I always wanted to use the Classics Jazz mold into another character. I also thought about using the FOC Jazz figure but thought making a Classics version of the Alternity Optimus Prime figure would be awesome. So here he is. A simple head swap from the FOC Optimus Prime. I gave the figure a flat black base coat with Krylon flat black, then dry brushed with Testors Acrylics silver, shades of blues and red, added some little bits of copper and yellow, and then painted the car mode with Krylon Gloss Cherry Red.
I think this is great You can paint that RtS Jazz mold all day long with your quality of work and I'll most likely say that
Out of all the heads I've used that is not Jazz, it's the only one that fits perfectly with no mods at all and can transform. I'm fine with that.
It has clearance in alt-mode too? I've been trying to customize my "spare" Jazz and I have a few heads in mind that all fit on the balljoint and fit through transformation but stick out so far in alt mode that the wheels don't touch the ground. Dx I might have to look into using this head. Paintwork is nice but what I love most is just the idea and attention to detail, mold really works well like this. Plus, I always like seeing Prime as a sports car for some reason.
I'm a huge fan of the Alternity Optimus mold, and this looks really nice! I am continually amazed at how diverse this mold has become, and your current rendition is no exception. Great job painting! It looks spot on smoooooth. I know what you mean about the head...I'm working on a couple of projects right now using the RTS Jazz mold, and finding that right noggin can be a challenge. Awesome work my friend!
Awesome! I dont think the heads small, it makes the rest of him look beefy. He is optimus prime after all.
Thanks for all the comments! Yup. I even tried the WFC Prime head but the head is even smaller and gives him a no neck look on this mold. Yup.
