Recently I finally finished my Classic Seeker collection when I realized that these molds feel a bit out of date. HASBRO should release a new classic style seeker mold.
I disagree. I think they have been remarkable upgrades to their prior G1 selves, and their design and execution holds up quite well. I can't magine how the mold can be improved upon.
Oh yeah, do a new mold and have to release it SIX TIMES again. Everyone would love that. Maybe they can even do half of them as botcon exclusives!
Nah. I'd rather have them spend their time on new characters instead of releasing a brand new mold and then releasing the characters AGAIN. The mold is dated but I think it's fine for what it's supposed to be.
gawd. we finally get all the seekers (minus sunstorm) and now we want to do it all over again? you must be a glutton for punishment. ok, ok, ok... I think they could use thigh swivel and upper arm swivel, but aside from that they're perfectly fine. I have 7 of the mold myself and I don't think I could really do any more than that.
Regardless of how people might feel about it, if the generations line is expected to continue for several years to come (and there's no reason to believe that's not the plan), I'd say a new seeker mold is a virtual certainty, probably as early as next year. There was plenty of seemingly well-founded speculation a couple of months ago that an upcoming MP is an update of starscream with a new alt mode and the new seeker mold would presumably match that. I'd hope they were a bit taller than the classics depictions as well. I'd guess we'll also see revamps of at least BB, Prime, and Megatron. My unfounded assumption would be that BB and Megs will be updated to resemble their current looks in IDW's comics. People can complain all they like, but they probably would have put "new Starscream" in the first year of Generations but instead decided to be cool and release Thundercracker, Dirge and Thrust in quick succession just to let people finish up the group.
I love this mold. Its the best IMHO. I would like to see the rainmakers get made and Acidstorm get redone in non-camo design.
I have 21 on display. Make a new mold? No. I say DON'T STOP NOW. Keep pumping them out. They can keep using the using the mold and use any name under the Sun(storm). I will buy it.
i still don't understand why people want voyager seekers, they ones we got are fine as is! seriously, who cares about vehicle mode scale, does everyone put their entire transformers collection in vehicle mode? they are just fine in scale in robot mode and it is fine, and the classics seekers are good as is, the hell it took to get all 6 is enough for me give me a purple seeker, sunstorm, and MAYBE the last two rainmakers and they can call it a day
New Deluxe Dreadwind & Darkwing with their original altmodes please. Seekers & Coneheads have had so much love already.
Love the seekers, I don't feel there's a need to improve the mold. Bring more of them I say. Re-release Ramjet and the Henkei Skywarp!!!!
I would love to see a new voyager sized Megs. Although I don't want a new optimus, only thing I would change/add to the current ops would be ankle hinges. Other than that I still think his mold has and will stand the test of time.
i want a new tank megatron, it could be a deluxe like RTS g2 prime, but damnit, i want a good earth mode tank megatron with modern engineering, i just feel like its something that is missing
I have heared that the classics seeker mold is outdated a few times... and I'm glad to see in this thread that like me, many people disagree and think that it's a fantastic toy
