Since the dinobots are getting a lot of love I thought I would through my Grimlock Wip up.

his transformation is similar to the animated 1, he is mostly sratch built with the bot and dino heads coming from the oversized KO.

That's nice. Am I right in assuming those forearms come from Armada Prime?

Looks pretty cool. The proportions and tranformation are great! Wow!

I guess MP Grimlock is too big for you... I was going to use the same KO to do a "classic" Grimlock but gave up after the MP release.

The MP release is great, but I don't think of it as a stand-in for Classics Grimlock. It's way too big even if it is considered small in comparison to MP Prime and Megs. I realize that Grimlock is supposed to tower over the rest of the Autobots, but that comparison shot with Classics Prime really nails the scale of the robots.

the problem with the MP grimlock for me is that im doing all 5 dinobots, already done slag,

if you look at the link you will see the style i am going for wouldn't look right beside the MP with all his detailing etc.

    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/303251-classic-dinobots-part-1-slag.html

I am using parts from mudflap, armada prime, classic jetfire (the repaint), BM scavenger, KO grimlock, lego knights and bionicle joints and styrene.

hopefully I will get a voyager classic grimlock withe the animated transformation. my main concern is his upper arms.

It's more inspired of G1 Grimlock than Animated IMO, but opinions may vary. Still it looks sweet.

T-Rex mode looks a bit skinny for me, but I'm looking forward to seeing this develop.

Ah, but that only works if you actually want to use Classics Prime as your default Optimus. He's always felt too small to me. ;)

I see. Does both the TFA and G1 Grimlocks have their T-Rex's head on their back to form that backpack anyway?
