Do you think he has the stuff to voice the character in a new TF animated series? i mean he's good at playing bad guys.

 

I'd very much like to hear him give it a shot, he's got a really good voice. I think he would make a great Megatron.

 

Sure! He'd make a great Beast Wars-esque Megatron.

 

Personally, I feel he would be better as another character: Nightbeat. His Captain Black from Jackie Chan Adventures would fit perfectly. He has that cool charisma and an experienced sound that I always imagine coming out of the Autobot Detective.

 

This would also be cool.

 

Depends on the series... something "for Collectors" I would at least hear him for Megatron. Couldn't be any more of a "meh" for me than Pearlman's Primal, at least... but I didn't feel that series did any of its actors any favors.

But if this was a cartoon series more aimed at new fans (say... under 10 years of age), I would be very amused to have Snap Trap done like his Mr. Krabs (minus that trademark chuckle), then the Piranacon formed from him use a vocalization much more akin to his TMNT Rahzar. Now there's a tangent... throw in other Pirate mannerisms... from the Bruckheimer films: probably Sea Wing as a Jack Sparrow for being the most awkward on land, amd Tentakil would have to emulate Davy Jones... "do you fear death?" Nautilator could be a Dustin Hoffman Captain Hook... *shrug*

Clancy would be an amazing Megatron.

I can also see him as Ironhide, Ultra Magnus and/or Unicron too.

 

I think with the proper writing, he could rival David Kaye in his depiction of a smooth, charismatic Megatron. It seemed like such a cliche choice, but is it a cliche if it just works?

 

I've read some Megatron in his voice and it works for me at least, I'm actually surprised he hasn't shown up in more Transformers fiction given he's a fairly common VA in other stuff.

 

Clancy Brown would be absolutely phenomenal as Megatron. That'd be a perfect casting choice.

I honestly read all of Nightbeat's dialogue in the comics as Clancy Brown's voice. Just seemed like a natural fit.

 

My ideal voice for Nightbeat is Raymond Burr, because he sounded experienced, somewhat gruff yet with a bit of warmth and had a lot of charisma.

The same could be applied to Clancy's Captain Black. He does have that friendly tone at the right times, he does sound like an experienced agent and he can be quite gruff, so Clancy as Nightbeat is a great choice and not the typical villain that Clancy constantly plays.

 

There's a reason why some actors are just typecast as villains, they are just that perfect for those roles. Clancy especially is one of them.

Yeah I'm surprised Silas is still his only role in the franchise. I hope that gets fixed soon.
