I'm liking the inclusion of a trailer and its functionality as a super armor component. I do feel it lacks something, though. It would have more visual impact for me if something were to go over the chest and/or head.

 

Shouldn't be too hard for them to reshape this figure into that version, especially since this one uses more of the same proportions and not recreating the Forced duplication of Pat Lee's style.



We already have Alpha Pack for that.. but this figure has sort of Stormbringer's look to it, and they would have to make some obvious changes to the surface but transformation looks similar enough to work.



Less bars and bulk, more angular tank plating.

This is looking pretty hot. Not like I need another prime, but at least it is different from what else I have. We'll have to see how it shapes up quality wise.

 

That sounds like a cool retcon (incorporating the Diaclone origins) that might have shown up in the All Spark Almanac, but my son read that thing cover to cover and the story is not ringing any bells with him. Maybe another book I am unfamiliar with.

I’ve always just put the idea in my head that pre earth alt modes with cockpits were for target/headmasters, minicons and any other smaller cybertronian life forms. Theoretically there could have been a lot of smaller transformers that had a symbiotic relationship with larger bots and they all were just wiped out in the war.

 

Sounds very interesting and heartbreaking all at the same time.    

 

To me I like to think cybertronians used to have frequent crusades to earth for resources. So they have cockpits and canopies cause it’s a common design that they copy.
