It does have that, for lack of a better word, roughness that the Gigapower Dinobots also have.

Like the Spark Toys for it's comic based look, it has the same stylized clean look.

Like the Civil Warrior one for it's more rugged look.

Both do it for me on different levels of estetic. Wouldn't mind owning one of the two.

Maaaaan I hope they actually make a War Within Grimlock. Spark Toys not following thru with Steellock was really disappointing

 

I believe that sentiment is very much shared across the board.

Haven't read the Dreamwave comic in years so forgot a little bit how Grimlock looked but he looks just like the Iron Factory Grimlock.

The pictures Spark Toys made for the 3D model looked really good and if he would have been in scale just like in the comic to their Optimus it would have been a real shelf stealer.

Iron factory’s dynobots are based on the IDW design which is based on the dreamwave design

 

Haven't read all the IDW comics just The Last Stand of the Wreckers and the first 4 TPB for MTMTE but in these comics Grimlock turns into a T-Rex and in the War Within from Dreamwave he turns into a vehicle like the Iron Factory one does. He is a spitting image of the posted pictures of Grimlock in @er4smiths post. But I haven't read all the IDW comics.

 

You’ve read very little of what’s available. There is a part in maximum Dynobots where we see them on Cybertron in a flashback in their Cybertronian vehicle modes. It’s later on that they scan dinosaurs. There’s a few prequel comics where you see the dynobots fighting during the war.

Looks like it Spartacus is about a head shorter than MP-10. From what’s been said this guy is slightly taller than MP-10.
