Last week, I accidentally snapped the head off my City Commader. Either the ball joint was too tight or maybe it had a different set up from the Shado Commader. I was pissed but I didn't panic. Since I just started doing actual mods and kitbashing I thought I would try to fix this. It worked! Here's what I did. Basically I melted a tiny hole in the neck and another hole in the head. Then I sanded down the back end of a missile thin enough to fit in the holes and then glued one end into the head creating a ball joint pin. The other end just slides in the neck just like the Shadow commander. The rest of the missile I used will be part of another project I am working on...
I know the feeling, my Washing machine knocked my 200x MOTU Whiplash off my shelf snapping his jeg off. and if you know those MOTU toys have no screws, they are glued or melted together. I fixed it using TF parts, essentially making his leg connect into the crotch, yet letting it pop off if he falls again. great job making this work for you. I don't have the fig/mold so I dont know what he has to begin with, but that looks like he just has a rotating head now, too bad you couldnt have made it a ball-joint.
Actually, it is a ball joint IN the head and the pin slides into the neck. Now if I can fix my MP Megatron.
bbbbut, City Commander never had a ball joint in his neck...it's a swivel joint... Nice fix man. I think I'd burst into tears if I broke my City Commander
Yes it can. But be careful, mine broke off too. I replaced mine with a ball joint from another kit. Works a lot better.
Wow, I never truly knew this! I'd suspected considering the quality of the set, but didn't wanna test it after hearing about a few people snapping the heads off theirs. It's good to know, but I'm still not gonna risk it
The shadow commander head comes off easy because you can switch faces. I assumed it was the same for the City but that's when it broke.
