My classics/Universe/RTS coellction is growing to the point where I'm stuck looking for more-expensive figures. for instance, I REALLY want to complete my seeker colelction with as much Hasbro Product as possible. right now I'm only got Starscream, Thundercracker (Both are the rereleases but I like them) and Dirge. I need Skywarp... And a Voyager OP... And bumblebee... And ESPECIALLY Windcharger I implore you, where is the cheapest/best place to buy these? My local Ross only has TF/Marvel Crossovers in stock right now.
Check Junkion exchange; some forum members may have what you're looking for. eBay might have good deals now and then, particularly for loose figures (if you don't mind loose).
Dude, you ain't gettin' a Skywarp cheap any time soon. I'd try eBay. That's what I've been doing... but they're still selling for more than I'm willing to shell out for them at the moment. I'm thinking about maybe getting a CHMS Warp instead. But honestly, you're probably not gonna find the ones you need in actual retail stores. They don't make them anymore. You'll have to go on Amazon.com, eBay, or look at the trading boards on TFW to get them.
If you have some conventions around you, try those. I see them a lot of times at Scifi cons. And Windcharger, good luck, I am still looking and I don't feel like dropping $50+ on him.
another figure I am looking for. One I owned once but never could find again. Was the screen-accurate BM Optimus Primal. He was a bro and I miss him. anyone got that? It was a big Lots figure and came on knockoff packaging.
Skywarp - You'll have to get REALLY lucky to find this guy, even loose. The best places to check for a good deal on this guy is on the forums or any local conventions. There IS the Henkei/Gentei! version with the chrome, but that already has a high MSRP for a deluxe and I hear the QC on those kinda sucks. Voyager OP - I REALLY wish you good luck with finding a cheap one of this guy. He's only seen the one Classics release, while he's seen at least three releases from Takara (regular, then the United version, and crystal). He also tends to go for high prices, so be prepared to spend at least $40 for a great deal. Bumblebee - He should be the easiest to find. He's had no less than THREE mass-releases, and the latest was the RTS version which I did find at a TJMAXX a few months ago. There's also the original version and the WM repainted version (the WM is the same as the original except the white is black and the translucent plastics are a dark blue, to match the movie look), so getting him for somewhere around MSRP shouldn't be too hard. Windcharger - Yeah...you will need to be lucky to find this one at a secondary store like TJMAXX, because distribution on this guy outright sucked (such was the case with ALL RtS figures, sadly).
Is this what you're looking for? Cheesy Toy Knockoffs Like, the one in the lower pictures? If not, I've always thought the air attack Primal or whatever it's called looked pretty good, but I wouldn't expect to find either in physical stores, at least not unless they're hobby shops & you got really lucky.
For Skywarp, assuming its Hasbro, try post an advertisement on the wants for $45-$50. He's worth about that much. I did one a few months and got him for $50 shipped. For Thrust, I would do the same. My brothers local NEX here actually had a stack of them. I guess that is where all the Thrusts went to. Ramjet: Good luck. There is a KO Henkei version of him now. Look at the sales board as well. Some sellers are selling him for $35 I think- Hasbro version. I got Windy but its on hold for a fellow member. I can only say continue to check your Ross/TJ maxx. That's how I found him.
Also, don't feel like you've gotta buy from the 1st people you see, or even the 1st people you contact. Make a list of the figures you want going one way, and then a list of those who have em going the other way. Keep track of who has what & at what price, and go from there. That way, you'll be able to cross off & ignore the idiots who want too much or have horrible communication, instead of feeling like you need to put up with their shit to get what you want because you don't. In many cases, it'll actually be a blessing because the more time you have to shop around, the better deals & people you'll find. Now, this isn't to say that you should let things sit for too long because others will jump on em, but being patient is always key.
C.H.U.G. - Forcing you to keep CHUGing excessive amounts of money to buy figures that half of which are outdated molds.
you want toys cheap? Pre-order, or find at retail. waiting months or more will rarely, if ever get you a good deal. so you're best bet is to keep your eyes glued here, anticipate new releases and plan ahead. i'd seriously be hosed if i didn't do that with my collecting. and i have overpaid for several figures when i started. the figures that were shortpacked (windcharger) and are going for nutball prices i either let go or bite the bullet and pay a "little" more for. rather pay $25- $35 for a deluxe than $50- $75 for it. just have to know when to cut your losses.
Unless you get lucky you don't. the stuff that retailed in the last year not counting Grapple, Lugnut and Windcharger of course , can be picked up at or near retail.
