I wanted to repaint Sideswipe and give him a more G1 look. He was disassembled and cleaned and then I sprayed Rustolium Sunburst red for him main color. His eyes and detail on his waist were done in a pearlescent blue. The turn signals are a couple of pieces of yellow electrical tape. I made his launcher out of some random rocket and a launcher from 2007 movie 74 bumblebee. I painted his gun, launcher and engine/jetpack in chrome. I am pleased with the way he turned out.

Thanks guys. The paint got a little messed up on his chest. I need to sand it down a little and then touch it up.

 

yea, that's what I was referring to in my last post. It wasn't a bad thing, just an observation is all. I just wanted to clarify that so you didn't think I was purposely being a dick,  . Did you happen to clear coat this?

 

Um...it's like 90% the same colors.

 

I took the critique for what it was. I got a similar response from the PC boards too. I didn't think you were being a dick. I want honest opinions when I post my work. I did clear coat it when I was finished. I have since sanded the area down and touched it up. Now I'm waiting for it to cure and clear coat the part again. Thank you for your input. I really appreciate it.

 

Yea, I think it was Z that had made the comment over there, right? lol, I'm glad you took it for what it was, and not me being rude. It's hard to determine how someone is saying something over the net  . Glad you took the advise and touched it up though. Would love to see the parts cleaned up with some new pictures  . Though, is the red that much of a muted color, or is just the pictures??

 

It's the pics that make it look muted. It really is a nice shade of red. I'll try and get some new pics up soon.

I think that's . . . perfectly fine. A great many figures just look much nicer with a slick paint job.

Yeah, honestly I think if you just go back and fix a few problem areas, you'll be golden.

I would suggest changing the faction label, though. I think that the faction symbols that are different (like the 3-D look, chrome, etc.) look "off". That's just my personal opinion, of course.
