I am not sure if this is an already existing thread but I thought this would be a good fun topic. What CHUG figures would people like to see get a redo. I was redoing my display and realized there were some CHUG figures I thought could REALLY use a new mold done for them. Gears - Look at your Generations Gears headsculpt. It's clear as day there was a plan to use the mold for a Brawn figure. I'd like to get one with a proper face sculpt. Skids - The Generations Skids is a panel filled mess that is very hard to pose and stand. He just deserves a better engineered mold. Huffer/Pipes - A retool/redeco of a Legends Optimus Prime figure just doesn't do either bot justice given their iconic looks. Roadbuster - I appreciate him being made and his Generation release has got a ton of weapons like the G1 toy. But he just isn't very bulky or stocky like Roadbuster should be. Elita 1 - She was never a jet. The only thing about the Power of the Primes Elita 1 that nails her iconic look is her head sculpt. Do we know what she actually transformed into in the G1 cartoon? LOL Alpha Trion - He was not a triple changer and had no creature mode. The TR Alpha Trion only cover his likeness with his head sculpt. Sandstorm - The Generations toy is very nice but misses his iconic G1 look. I'd love to see a new mold for him like what was done for Springer. Liokaiser - He was a 6 member team, not 5. The torso for him is an abomination with the use of the CW Sky Lynx mold. Let's see him done right with his 6 members! Shrapnel/Kickback/Bombshell - I think they would be better as deluxe figures and coming out all in the same line for consistent engineering and deco. Anyone got ones they feel really need a do over because of the severe faults with the version we got? Chime in!
A better Roadbuster is in the top or my list. Also a new, less IDW Whirl too. I'll take a more G1 take on Skids too so I can finally get rid of the T30 one.
A non-partsforming Cliffjumper would be nice. Yeah there's that upgrade kit, but a non-partsforming small Deluxe carbot shouldn't be $35.
Out of the ‘84, ‘85 and ‘86 toys, I’m happy with pretty much all of the existing toys except for those CW Constructicons. I’d like them deluxe sized, with better articulation, a proper looking Mixmaster and NO MORE CHEAP SHIT UGLY VISIBLE WHEEL CLIPS, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. Some of those designs look lphoned-in and more befitting of a legends scale figure.
A new Tidalwave and Armada Megatron would be what I think needs to be done. They need their own molds.
Pff, well fuck, if Generations actually still means Generations and not One Generation, then I retract my Cliffjumper suggestion. Armada redos please. Only 8 characters for both factions and we've already got a good Starscream and a promising Optimus in the works anyway. Might as well just get it over with.
This has been done a few times. One similar thread as recent as 2 weeks ago I believe. But things tend to change so do opinions of currently owned figures as well as CHUG figures I've been dying to replace for years now. So... Once again a new Voyager class Straxus/Darkmount, Bludgeon and bigger set of Dinobots (with no dumb ass combiner gimmick) would be great. Voyager Cyclonus, Scourge and a Voyager class Romulus (Voyager class Rodimus with a $20 battle trailer would get a pass if done right this time).
I would like to see a repaint of Trypticon in black and a fixed hip joint. Like what was mentioned before but I would like to see the Constructicons in voyager class size(same height as starscream) and with weapons and limbs to make Devastator
A slim tracks would be nice - the previous one was far too chunky. I like the POTP Jazz - its basically the clean G1 cartoon mold and yet its just such a lacklustre figure I can't even put my finger on why.
I need a Jazz not hampered by the combining gimmick. Honestly the 2010 Jazz is still the better figure.
I think a modified upscaling of most of the POTP Dinobots would work ok - i.e. no combining and better wings etc. But for Swoop i would want a complete redesign. I hated the way his feet worked on the POTP mold and the fact that the wings couldnt fold back on themselves to give the original look.
Don't even think about mentioning Kickback, Bombshell & Shrapnel. We have tons of different versions of them between, WFC, G1, 3rd party. It's time for Ransack, Chop Shop, Barrage & Venom to start getting some love.
No idea why they'd didn't repaint / retool the rest like Chopshop - easy money for hasbro from the three molds.
Gears/Swerve: are just fine Skids:i like the one we have now. but i wouldnt be opposed to a new one with better shoulders and a boxier alt mode Huffer/Pipes totally agree Roadbuster: agree he should be a leader class toy. Whirl: the only thing idw about T30 Whirl is his head. if anything i'd want a MORE idw Whirl Elita1 and Alpha Trion: are just fine. Sandstorm: is fine. Liokaiser: the only thing wrong with Liokaiser is the torso. bang out a repaint of potp Starscream as Leozack and a Beachcomber repaint as Jallugar and the whole problem is fixed. The Insecticon Diaclone trio are just fine. the one condition i would accept deluxes of them, is if we're guaranteed repaints as the Beetras Insecticons. we need Chopshop, Ransack, Venom, and Barrage more than we need mulligans on Shrapnel, Bombshell, and Kickback. in fact, that sums up my view on Generations repeating itself. FINISH the the g1 cast before going back and tweaking the ones you didnt get perfect the first time. we still dont have a Generations Star Saber. but we already have 3 Wreck Gars and 4 Sideswipes.
I don't like Roadbuster being so large when he transforms into a jeep. Ruckus and Crankcase need new toys. At least, they should release the Botcon Ruckus at retail. Octane. The fact that the Titanmaster can't sit in either the truck cab or jet cockpit ruins his TR figure for me. Ravage needs a toy where he can open and close his mouth. Device Label gave us this but the jaw is quite fragile on all versions of the mold. Galvatron needs a new toy. Titans Return had a great body. CHUG Deluxe had a great head with some nice light piping. Sky Sky Shadow is the same. His deluxe had some of the best light piping in the franchise. A new Scourge that can combine with CW Cyclonus. Actually a new Cyclonus too. The Technobots. Strafe and Nosecone look very poor compared to the overpriced Takara versions. Scattershot, Hun-gurrr, Cyclonus and Silverbolt all suffer from those shoulders. Can we get a few TR Triggerhappy repaints as Needlenose, Strafe and Tailwind? I'd like to see more Pretender inner robots get updated like Titans Return Metalhawk and Botcon Bludgeon. No more mixing the shell with the robot. Titans Return Triggerhappy, Misfire, Slugslinger, Brainstorm, Nautica, Hardhead and Highbrow could all be retooled nicely as the G1 inner robots like Cloudburst and Skullgrin. I'd like to see a few upscales: POTP Battletrap Siege Flywheels. Or just repaint TR Blitzwing as Flywheels and Overcharge. Astrotrain. Preferably a retool of Siege or EnergonOmega Supreme. Earthrise Grapple Earthrise Starscream CW Aerialbots Terrorcons Dinobots The Insecticons. All of them. Even Bob. Straxus Scourge Thunderwing. Preferably a retool of TR Sky Shadow. Sentinel Prime Downscales: Predaking Menasor Earthrise Wheeljack Oh and if we do get a new Tracks at some point, can we get it repainted as Backstreet?
