    Hey Gang!
Been a while since I posted anything new & I wanted to share something that I've had going for the last couple of weeks! Quite a long time ago I started my first custom that was inspired by the master... Wheel_Jack! He also inspired me to try my hand at the first Targetmaster I'm now working on:

    SURESHOT!

So, many huge thanks to you sir for being a huge font of inspiration !
Here's what I have so far, keep in mind this is a WIP & very early on in the works. As always, comments, crits & questions heartily welcomed!

    The Laundry List:
    - 1/144 hobby Base hands that fold backwards into forearm pockets
    - Double jointed elbows
    - Ball & socket wrists
    - Ball & socket neck
    - New feet (IDW design) with transformation & storage similar to Classics SIDESWIPE/SUNSTREAKER combined with Classics PROWL's hinged flip out heel. Also with poseable toe tips
    - Ball & socket ankles
    - Ball & socket shoulders
    - New upper legs with swivel articulation (classics Smokescreen donor bits)
    - Swivel joint at waist with poseable GUNDAM style waist guard flaps
    - N.D. magnetic attach points on hood for spoilsport
    - New hinged nose section that flips backwards to fold againt 'Bot mode back
    - New wheels (WFC Bumblebee) with shock absorber assemblies ( TF 2010 Armorhide )
    - New spotlites on roofline & nose
    - Afterburner exhausts on rear of car mode
    - Chopped -n- dropped roof-line
    - Head molded, cast, split & screw bossed to include LED litepiping. Eyes to be sculpted with irises styled liked TF Prime characters. Stronger Chin also

    The original toy:

    UPDATES:

Just a couple of quick side shots to show the potential of the Alt mode. Goin for a sorta "MAD MAX" feel to him when he's finished.

Here's a shot of a digibashed chop n drop on the roofline to make him seem lower to the ground as well as giving him a less "bulky" chest in 'Bot mode. Also, you can see where the original roofline was as the blacked out area:

Got some more work done on the legs & feet, I may have to rework the toe-tip joint as its not bending the way I'd hoped it would. The legs look long & spindly mainly cause they haven't been built back up yet with details but its getting there.

Here's a shot of how the feet will fold up into the legs for transformation ( still working the bugs outta this setup too )

Cheers Gang & thanks for looking!

This looks pretty cool so far, kudos man for attempting to articulate this guy. I've tried my hand at doing something like this with the Throttlebots, not an easy task, and you've definitely got a better start on this than I ever did!

Thanks for the compliments man, much appreciated! :D

These G1 figures are fun to work with, lots of room for improvement articulation-wise but there are aspects of many of them that make it very hard. Like for instance, of all the parts you would think wouldn't be so bad, his elbows have been very challenging! I wanted them to be super-poseable & have symmetry yet still transform similarly to the way the original joints did. It took me a good deal of puzzling it out but I'm pretty sure I've got it figured now.

Damn dude! You tried this kinda stuff with throttlebots?!?! That IS ambitious!
Best of luck to ya on those, got one myself & boy are they spartan on possibilities! :lol

Thanks for the super compliment my friend! Its great to breathe some new life into these old guys so they can rejoin the ranks! But, I gotta gotta gotta give credit where credit is due. If it hadnt been for my friend Wheel_jack's awesome Sureshot & Spoilsport as inspiration, I'd most likely have never even thought of this guy as a modding project! If you havent seen WheelJack's SURESHOT yet ya gotta check it out, its the bomb-diggity:

And last but not least, is Spurt Reynold's awesome custom which is an almost completely new figure ! :
