Done all but Paint SEVERAL UPDATES WITH ALOT OF PICS Going for a blend of G1 Toy and Cartoon. Really Really don't like the Generations toy we were given. I see A LOT of guys doing Voyager and MP scale versions of this guy and they are all sweet. But, I like the Deluxe and Scout class figures. I've wanted to build him for awhile now, but but talking myself into killing the figures needed to do it was a chore. After rounding up left overs from other customs, I had almost enuff, so I figured I'd get started. Sorry for some of the pics being fuzzy, Phone camera is all I have right now. Head: Just a placeholder. Its from a two pack megatron Torso: Generations Skywarp Arms: Skywarp, a KO seeker, and two Energon Duststorms Hands: Will be using the 1/144 Gundam hands Legs: Generations Ramjet Tank treads: G1 Nosecone Cannon: Energon port from two Energon Aerialbots, and a paint brush handle So, that's it for now. Got a Gen. Galvy on order for the chest plate and head. When done he'll have all three modes. Guess that's about it, Let me know what you think. I rely on y'all for feedback and suggestions. Thanks, Michael
No offense, but you really used a Deluxe Skywarp and Ramjet for a custom? Those two figures alone sell for 100+.
Came from my son's toys. They were broken beyond repair. So, yeah. Figured they should go to some use.
Umm? Don't know what you are talking about,I got mine for 20$ and I know someone who is selling all the seekers classic and henkei ones for 19.99 If you are talking about the new sets, in my opinion the price for 3 is a rip off. BTW way to think out of the box using a seeker keep up the work.
Alright then, my apologizes. This does look fairly good though, I'll be nice to see it all painted up and finished. The prices on Classics Skywarp and Ramjet are ridiculous. 60 for Skywarp and 40 for Ramjet. And are you sure those aren't KOs? I don't know who would sell Henkeis for 19.99. And no, I wasn't talking about the new three packs, but yeah, that price is sickening.
That looks good! Even more awesome since you're recycling junk bots into something. PS. I love captain obvious. He seems to be very popular in this forum.
Excuse me, but are you implying that I'm captain obvious? I'm not that active on this forum, and nor to I post unless chatter. I was just a little shocked that someone would use what I thought was HTF figures for a custom. If they weren't junkers I know some of you would have your panties in a wad over it.
Y'know? I always wondered if the classics seeker mold could be this versitile..you've now proven it for me. @SlaveToLogic don't worry about the captain obvious thing, you were just stating your opinion
Made a little progress. The Bot is actually built now. What comes next will be the hard part. He has full articulation except for hands, which I intend to fix with the new ones, ankles, knees, hips, hip swivel, elbow, biceps, and shoulders, head moves forward and back. New head will turn sideways as well. OK Pannelling shaping etc. Question I'm asking myself...Can I make this stack of spare/left over parts actually look like Galvatron?
New Update Almost got the legs done. I'm debating on whether or not to put the angle on the outside of the legs or not. Then its only a matter of the rim around the bottom. Hip swivel is done: made out of the cannon turret swivel from universe Megatron and some styrene. It's hard to tell in the pics but the chest is more 3D and rounded like the G1. Next up: Rounding up the back, adding the pistol grip/3d tank tread, and then head and upper arms. After that it'll be shoulder pads and hip shields. Those will be plain old styrene and the shields off of an old strongarm.
Nice progress. Did you consider the idea of hinging the tank treads and having them fold up under the forearms?
Peace and love is all around us...embrace it! I'm sure no one meant any disrespect. Batman Prime, keep up the good work. Really like what i'm seeing here.
More Updates His legs are done. You can't really tell from the pics but I got the angle on the outsides of the legs. That was something I didn't think I'd pull off. The upper arms and built but still need the shoulder pads. I got the 3d track/pistol grip in as well. It doesn't fold forward like the G1 but it does go out of the way. Maybe if someone likes this enough to build one themselves they will be more skilled and pull it off better.
