Create a safe haven for your figures: a really tall bookcase with everything on the higher shelves
And a moat!
This guy is here. Now i have to wait for Sixgun.
These 2 can now battle it out till their harts contents. ( my Metroplex is Legends line, where does he belong in the US line? )
Generations Thrilling 30
What small Arcee figure is that? I haven’t seen that one before.
That is Iron Factory's Pink Assassin. She's a pretty cool little bot. Got her because I had IF's Windblade and Slipstream, so why not?
i wish the reissue hadnt been so expensive, i ended up finging a used one that was missing its weapons for $100 about a year back
Because i've paid 280 euros for this Japanese guy. ><
Could have bought him for 250 euros if i had pulled the trigger earlier.
There were 3 of them in 3 different shops.
2 in England and one here.
250 + shipping or 275 + shipping from England.
But they were all sold.
So i had to get this one quick otherwise i can't find him any more.
So in the end it's 280 + 7,50 shipping. ><
But i'm happy with him.
For mine I had to source scamper and thumbs, plus I’m using a perfect effect grand Mac fun for him since he didn’t come with any weapons
It's still cheaper then mine, while mine comes with 2 big blasters.
Picked up a complete Galvatron today for $12 at a local vintage toy shop and already took off the kibble and kinda fixed that horrendous head/face. Also got in Aimless!
Update on the process of diving back into collecting!
Btw Predaking is easily my fav and id recommend buying if you can find a nicely priced one!
Victory by superior brainpower!
Sadly, my 96% height almost four year old brings a chair over to shelves and plays with the figures on the top shelf of my 6' tall shelf. Here I hoped that those would be safe, as that is where I put my Predaking collection.
Next year, I am just going to look into getting some glass display shelves for them.
Ok, help me out with this one. I just don't get it. Why is everybody still pouncing on this toy? The prices are ridiculous & people are still buying them up. Nobody wanted to pay over $100 for it at the time of release. Costco had pallets loaded with them for $60 a pop. And after all this time wouldn't you think that all the collectors that wanted one already have it in their collection? On top of that Takara released it, SDCC had a version & then Takara re-released it. So there is no shortage of them out there & it's in no way rare or scarce. So WTF is the deal? Why are people still paying $200+ with a lot of BIN's at $450? This one is really confusing the hell out of me. I was thinking about getting a second to paint into Metrotitan but the prices are ridiculous.
Also, in the past few years the prices have skyrocketed on everything. A huge jump in price used to happen when the item was like 30+ years old. But these days everybody seems to be trying to artificially inflate the prices on everything up over $100 in just a couple years. If they're jacking the prices up so fast on the new stuff now, what's it going to be like 30 years from now? Will Metroplex be $4000 30 years from now? The G1 stuff from 35 years ago didn't even go up that much.
People who were 7-12 during the first movie are starting to get jobs, and want a piece of their childhood. Ebbs and Flows, but I would expect some of it to get a little worse before it gets better, because I have always gone with the 20 year theory on nostalgia pieces, but in the past decade we have added a whole lot of collectors. Not to mention it was the first Titan class figure, and there was no guarantee we would get Fort Max, Omega Supreme, Devastator, Trypticon, and Predaking. Add to that the fact that not many B&Ms carried it other than Costco, and people playing the waiting game lost out. Always seems like once things dry up from one etailer, they quickly dry up everywhere.
Hell, when the second round of "classics" got released, I had just gotten back into collecting, and picking up some of the original ones was a pain, such as Ramjet, Skywarp/Magnus (which couldn't be given away at one point). Tastes change.
Finally, Metroplex (and the Titans) are figures that fit in either a classics display, or an MP display pretty well where people who may be ditching classics for an MP collection don't mind keeping it in their display. Sadly I bought 3 at Costco for other people, but didn't pick up an extra for myself.
Finally, I have all the Autobot Triple Changers and all of Soundwave's tapes!
