This Inglorious Bastard is still my favorite iteration of this mold.

    Thanks for your suggestion.
He's lovely and all, but I'm just not an MP guy. The two MP ko I had for a while I ended up giving away. It's just a gateway drug I can't afford. Too many years too late to get on board now, plus I only have part time work (not for lack or trying to get more). So just not practical for me.
If I bought one or two, I'd only want them all.
Been tempted to get that ko many times.
Instead, I ignore any chance of ever having a chug s1/2 shelf and instead have gone for a Wreckers and eventual 86 movie shelf, as that is at least a reasonable and achievable goal, without robbing any banks.

Memory fails me on who this guy is meant to be?

    Laserbeak skateboard!

Rumble balances surprisingly well on Laserbeak's back, considering how difficult he normally is to stand up.

I always use blu-tack for his feet.
his topple-worthy rating is off the scale.

First time I’m seeing this version of the mold. Was this like Shattered Glass Drift or a different character? I love the colors on it, very nice. Makes this guy look very plain by comparison.

Nah, Drift is still pretty cool. This figure was my first introduction to the character. I think I had seen him a couple times in the comics. But I stopped reading the IDW books, for a number of reasons, before they really delved into his back story. From what I understand he was a Decepticon who found a new path after a mission gone wrong that gave him a new code of honor to follow that led to the Autobots. I like a good redemption tale. Drift here was a welcome addition to the Generations line, an original character with a unique spin.

The alt mode was a nice departure from the more traditional car modes for the Autobots. You didn’t see too many exotic customs up to that point. The curves and the kanji definitely give him the aura of a samurai. Even more so of that mystique carried over to his robot mode.

Drift just has Eastern influence within every aspect of this figure. Which is fitting given these toys origins. I think the samurai seeking redemption spin really works for this figure. Drift is just fascinating in more ways than have to do with his engineering.

Speaking of which, since he has so much samurai armor on him, in my head canon anyway, his poseability is somewhat stifled. It helps that he has good wrist articulation though to hold his sword with both hands. I like that he has the “armor.” Like a good samurai he is up to the task.

His transformation may be somewhat simple, but Drift was an original mold so I’ll give it a pass. It was still unique and effective. Subtlety done well. And I love that he came with swords and storage for them.

The door sheaths may be a little cumbersome, but the blades they hold are really nice. It adds a bit of sneaky samurai to his mystique. Drift was a new character which hadn’t been done in the G1 aesthetic for a while. If they make more new characters with originality and spirit of character like Drift, l welcome the new additions.

Deadlock. It's what Drift called himself when he was still a Decepticon.

Since I was getting complaints that the poses in my pics were too static, I took new pics of Wheeljack and Bluestreak

It would be cool if you could somehow add a shadow to these, but nice work anyways. These poses look more natural.
