It's officially Christmas Eve here in PA, and I can't wait for my dad to open the TF's I got him. I figured what the hell, start the thread early in case anyone wants to share any bots or prezzies they get for Christmas OR sweet toys you got for others!

I'll start things off. My dad has always gotten me a super awesome and special Transformer for Christmas ever since I got MP01 Convoy back in Christmas of 2003. He's nabbed me an in box G1 Optimus, a complete G1 Bruticus, some FT Dino's, various MP's, even some original artwork from the cartoon. This year, I wanted to really try to pay it forward. I don't know all that much about the G1 toys themselves, but man did I study up on a few on Transformer Land. I managed to nab him a complete 1st edition minty G1 Blitzwing complete with good condition box, no insert though, instructions, all accessories with missiles on the sprew, catalog, decoder, and a fresh original sticker sheet. I think he'll love it. He's the one who got me into the financially devastating hobby; he collected them as a kid too.

Speaking of devastating, I'd like to tell you guys a small story:

Me: "Dad, the voice of Devastator is gonna be at Retro Con in 2017!"
Dad: "Wow, that's cool. You should get your Combiner Wars box signed! It's a shame we don't have a G1 Devastator in the box. That would be awesome could you imagine?"
Me: "Mm....yeah....."

.....$150 later, the deed is done. I did it. I scored a complete, in box, no KO no reissue G1 Devastator for him/us as a restoration project of sorts. The Cons themselves are in AMAZING condition, but the box has seen better days. I'm already in the market for a different, better box (if anyone wants to help me out!!!). But yeah....I caved, and I love my dad a lot. I cannot wait to see the look on his face, I think I'm far more excited to see that than getting anything.

My Christmas TF haul. The MP's are from my wife and I was able to nab one of the $55 Ross Ft. Max's. My carpet looks awful. Merry Christmas!

 

Seriously, you're an awesome kid to your dad. Some real heartfelt stuff in here.  

 

I grabbed an MMC Terraegis when I ordered my son's main gift replacement, MP Optimus Primal. His original was a TR Ft Max I ordered from Amazon when we decided last minute to add a TV to my daughter's haul. UPS smashed it bad, and it arrived broken. We already have a Max in my collection, which he's allowed to mess with whenever he wants (he's 12, we collect together). After talking to him, I found out he wanted MP Primal far more (unrelated convo, he didn't know about Max).

Then, I found out today, the family ordered me an MMC Anarchus from BBTS. Won't be here until next week, but it's a figure I looked hard for. Apparently BBTS has some in stock.

Fwiw, my wife and I never do a "gift exchange" on Christmas. We focus on the kids. I got her Figma Windwaker Link and a few games she wanted.

My son is getting the bot overload. I got him a bunch of TR figures, MP Primal (with MACE!), and the CC exclusive tablet Soundwave. Pretty much the entire family bought him bots, so we all had to coordinate who got which ones.

Also, major shout out to Hany and the gang at Agabyss.com. They're fairly local (2 hours away), and I buy quite a bit from them. They're great! But this one takes the cake! I panic messaged him Thursday morning, and I was even willing to drive down to where they are to pick up. We figured out if he shipped it, it should arrive in time for Christmas. Picking it up was an option, but we were showing a major winter storm for Friday afternoon, and we sure got it! I placed the order, sent him a message with the invoice number, and had tracking 10 minutes later! Everything showed up as planned, and my son is going to be VERY happy! I can't say enough good things about Agabyss!

harking back to the old 'figure out all six modes without looking at the instructions' challenge, I've transformed him through all six modes twice thi morning. Once looking at the back of the box and once just by wonky memory. Naturally I documneted the wonky memory attempt.

TF wise, my wife got me Platinum G1 reissue Trypticon, TR Triggerhappy, TR Gnaw, and TR Fangry and the second volume of the G2 comics. My mom got me Gen. Darkmount. It was a good evening and morning  

We also got some generous cash from my in-laws, my share of which will likely go to TR Fortress Maximus and TR Six Shot.

 

Here's what I got today for Transformers:

 

Titans Return Twinferno and Rodimus *still salty about not finding Triggerhappy*, the third party Warbotron set, and third party M.A.D.L.A.W. Non-TF: some Lego creator things, a couple Toblerones, Downton Abbey Christmas tea, some wood puzzles, shirts, a book of cat stuff, Splatoon, and some clothes. And fishing line. No, no pictures. Looking to download Fire Emblem Fates Conquest and Revelation later.

EDIT: And a French Press. Forgot about that.

 

Update, father loves his Devy! As usual, he knocked it out with the bots. He got me MP Primal, Blue Bluestreak, SG Optimus, and FT Sever.

Also for anyone who hasn't grabbed those little Alt Mode things, they are unexpectedly adorable and awesome.
