i plan on buying masterpiece optimus prime, but can quite decide which to buy. i'm willing to pay extra as the mp is an awesome piece of work. the thing is i'm not sure if i want the trailer or not, since i will only be displaying prime in robot mode. i hope u guys can give inputs on which to buy. ok here we go...

1) cab only or cab + trailer

2) if cab only : mp01 or 20th (i don't like dvd)
if cab + trailer : mp04 or mp01+ trailer or 20th+trailer

I got the 20th anniversary. I don't care about the short stacks as much as I care about the correctly colored rifle.

 

Yeah, the 20th one will not murder your wallet. Basically the same thing ya know?

 

Unless you really like diecast, go for the 20th Prime instead of MP Convoy. You can always order a set of longer stacks, which are quite easy to install. If you're only gonna display Prime in robot mode, there's no sense in getting a trailer. It'd just take up space.

i just got a 20th prime recently with long smokestacks and it looks exactly like the MP convoy (except it has battle damage). its a really cool figure and has the same simlarities as the takara version but Easier on the wallet  

now i gotta get a MP megatron someday...

MP01 Convoy has long smokestacks, grey rifle, is die-cast, and a cleaner paint job.

20th Prime has short stacks, black rifle, is also die-cast and has a battle worn paint job, more burn applications.

Otherwise they're quite similar.

 

The dvd edition of Prime has no "battle damage." It's clean.

That Orange Version with no chrome and te stand is the DVD version right?

DVD Prime isn't exactly orange. Most of the time it's the perfect red (Show accurate red), but in a certain light it does look orange-y. Wierd.

 

Hmmm... where did this "20th Prime isn't die-cast" thing come from?

 

Yea, DVD prime has just as much Die-cast as the other MP OP's.

 

if you wanna save on $$$ and dont care for short smokestacks, just go for 20th anniversary prime.

 

To me, its not complete with out the cab. Then again, its not complete either because the scout did not come with the set either. Its disturbing, I know!

Binaltech are dicast and Alternators aren't. About all I can come up with.

 

I got the DVD version...then got the fan-made large trailer with long smoke stacks off of ebay and have him displayed in his semi-truck glory.

the only detraction i can make about the trailer is the joint on the gun/repair droid mechanism is a little loose but otherwise this thing was well worth the $99 that he was getting on ebay for it.

 

I have the dvd version and am getting mp-04. I personally love my dvd version. It still rocks.
