Can anyone tell me if these ARE offcial releases as they claim to be, or if they're knockoffs? Being on 13 dvds screams of knockoff to me... :huh
Not knock offs. However, I couldn't get them to play in a standard US DVD player. I could play them on my PC's DVD drive however. Image quality is top noch and the English soundtrack is included and must be selected.
Thanks. I guess they won't play on US players as they're PAL, but computers don't have this problem Thanks again
My north american multi-region plays PAL fine. (in region 2 setting). Is that what the problem is? About how much are these running?
Mine plays just fine in both my DVD players Now I'm hoping for RID & Energon sets....since we know they have no plans for US releases....
Yeah, found them on Ebay 3 bucks us plus 37 bucks in postage. Anyone know the difference between the regular and gift boxset?
I'm an authority now? This is just my opinion based on the G1 and the Japanese series that I bought. They're decently packaged and they have OK animated menus. The picture quality is not quite DVD crisp but still tons better than the bootleg VHS tapes floating around on the net. They also have ISRC codes (not sure what that means but it makes them look more legit). If they are bootlegs they are well done bootlegs. Based on what I read somewhere (I think seibertron.com???), it's just the packaging. Hope that helps. I myself am waiting for an Energon and maybe Cybertron set so I can buy the trilogy in one swoop.
Having missed all but couple eps on CN I am aching to get complete volume of Armada, Energon, and Cyberton DVDs. Maybe someone from this forum can burn the DVDs and sell them. Not trying to encourage piracy or anything I just want them.
They look good but I'm not to certain. Theres been a ton of great looking DvD anime bootlegs as of late. I bought MS Gundam the 8th MS Team and 0083 Stardust Memories and honestly its packaged better than the originals. Comes with a nice slip case that has some glossy pics (note that the whole cover isn't glossy just screen grabs or the Mobile Suits and text) the case itself is all clear with a double sided insert. The episodes are great quality and they are uncensored and in English. The menus use the exact same Icons as the official releases and it has the Warning do not copy blah bah blah on it. IGN had this problem recently with GunGrave and in the past with Witch Hunter Robin. Also the fact that China is primarily NTSC and they are listed as official Chinese releases in PAL.
