I listen to GnR at least once a month for probably 17 or 18 years now. GnR was my favorite band growing up. Still are, in many respects. I believe Appetite to be one of greatest albums of all time.

    Guns n' Roses are dead.

It was a special mix of talents ruined by egos, greed, and a decadent lifestyle.

It was a potent blend of Slash's guitars, Axl's voice, and Duff's bassline. People tend to forget Izzy which is a horrible mistake as that according to all reports, he was the primary creative force behind the songwriting. And for my money, Matt sucks balls compared to Steven.

It was great but shortlived and it will never be resurrected. While VR is a great band, it still seems to be GnR light.

As for Axl, he sounded like shit at the MTV awards. It was sad. Psychiatry f'd him up.

Like I said, Guns n' Roses are dead.

    Long live the King.

hmm.. Ive heard the bootlegs.. Some of them are good.. some of them are not, and Its hard to say which of the bad ones is just a result of poor bootlegging equipment at the show.

Still, If it comes out. I will buy it. While I like Velvet Revolver.. They are indeed "GnR: Lite" just like AudioSlave is "Rage: Lite".

I don't see why you pluralized ego. It was all that tool Axl that broke the band up. But ya, his voice was great.

I don't see that at all, in both cases I see the remains of 2 great bands making a new great band. Velvet Revolver sounds somewhat like Gn'R from time to time and sure these is some influince there but that is because it has 3 members from it, but even with that with Scott Weiland fronting the band it's also got a STP vibe.

AudioSlave sounds NOTHING like Rage. There are songs that have that Rage vibe, but that's about it. If anything AudioSlave sounds more like Soundgarden than anything, and that suits me just fine.

As far as I am concerned both bands just Jettisoned an overbearing loudmouthed self-righteous self-important front man, just like Alter Bridge did.

I guess its just that I didn't like either Sound Garden or stone temple pilots. So they sort of Morphed into things that I can listen too.. but are not my favorite things to listen too.

If it gets any radio airplay, then I'll make comment at that time. You never know. It could be brilliant... it could be urinal cake.
