I wanted to check in with people’s experiences with tracking numbers that begin with RV#####CN coming from Shanghai? My stuff has been floating around for over a month and I wanted to see if that’s normal?

 

Small going somewhere in China. Likely to be relabeled if it needs to go international. So most likely cheapest option.
If it keeps moving you're screwed.
If not i could be relabeled and untrackable.

I'm thinking about holding off on ordering anything else from ShowZ site until their free shipping speed improves. Their free shipping to the US by literal slow boat service takes too damn long. I placed a couple of orders with him at this time last month. They've shipped them out but they're still on the boat with no update of them reaching US soil. Meanwhile my order from Baba's website was placed a week later and it was delivered last week. I also placed an order with @Uncle Billy's website about a week after Baba's and it's now in the neighboring state and should be delivered next week if not this week. In the meantime I'll stick with Taobao, Baba, and Uncle Billy.

 

The most recent update is, “Handed over to air carrier” on May 31. With. A note that says, “Shanghai international mail exchange” and nothing more since then. I have a few packages coming over at around the same time and all of them seem to be stuck on this option.

 

Just to give an update, I got my items from hzj401 on eBay and mascotzone on eBay . The extra cost for "expedited shipping" from Mascotzone wasn't worth it as it took 48 days to get to me, where the package from hzj401 took only 20 days. Still, very happy with both orders!!

 

All the recent issues with slow shipping from both ShowZ and the Mascot group makes me wonder how much of it is directly related to coming out of Shanghai? We'd heard plenty of issues in Beijing recently, but they didn't seem to have much issue for Baba being nearby in Tianjin as of late, but I haven't heard anything very specific to Shanghai, and my only shipments from there recently have all been through DHL.

 

My parcel from ty_dynng-8 has indeed arrived and I now have a ko mp-28 hotrod. Haven't got a ko in a while but I finally decided to buy this guy because to me he looked like the best hotrod and I was not disappointed, the joints on this thing are super tight and he has a nice group of accessories. The transformation was easy enough to follow from the instructions but I did find it hard to get the hood apart to move and I might need to shave off a bit to the tab that hold the backpack as it was very hard to get in. I even managed to get the KFC articulated hands from netclow but I don't think I have them on right as they won't allow transformation while on and limit wrist swivel? Still need to get some Toyhax labels for him but all in all very happy with this guy, the G1 hotrod was my one of favourite toys as a kid so it feels great to finally add one to my masterpiece collection.

Does anyone have experience with users ekinyangyiwei (ekinyangyiwei on eBay) and yn7-60 (yn7-60 on eBay)? I'm looking at their SS Blackouts to be specific

 

Before Covid that would mean within maybe around 60 days without updates from May 31. Today that would be the same from the moment it left the country.

Yeah I had to read it a couple of times the first time I saw it because I thought he was selling broken figure but I can assure you the one I got was not broken.

 

Suppose that depends on what you're asking exactly, as in, how many G1 Overlords can you buy right now for £34.99, or how many G1 Overlords can you buy right now in exchange for an original G1 Overlord with full unused sticker sheets? I suppose that all comes down to how you feel about terms like "complete", "knock-off", "discoloration", and "play wear".

 

Still waiting to get my Spy Patrol 2 pack, but the package, whatever it may be, did arrive in CA a week ago per speedpak.. tomorrow is the earliest it was expected to be delivered, but not been any tracking updates since arriving stateside. Not that I really thought it would be the earliest date, but wow it seriously moved through and out of China faster than going anywhere in the US lol.

 

The Chinese name for Hot Rod is "Hot Break", while Rodimus is "Gentleman who repairs/replaces the sky", so you can see where the translations went wrong.

 

Honestly, it seems like so many of the more bizarre chinese to english translations could be attributed to english speakers using a word too much in the wrong context or with too many shared meanings and chinese interpreters drawing the wrong meaning because of inaccurate use by the english speakers to begin with. I tend to feel like so many bad english translations are the result of bad english speakers themselves unknowingly setting up future generations for failure. Add to that the number of words that don't have a direct translation because a word is especially unique to that language/culture and you have a recipe for odd and unintentional hilarity.

 

That, and Google Translate for Chinese to English sucks as well.
