It really varies by situation, but typically, I try Ebay first and then move to PayPal based on what happens around it.

It sucks we got duped on this, when I went back and checked his reviews I couldn’t believe I made an impulse buy as poorly as that. After reading your message it sort of relieved me that at the time of purchase he was less obvious.

Wish I knew about this forum before now, I may have just fallen victim to toyclub89 for a few additions that I haven’t been able to find... they had a total of 3 that I needed, good reviews so I figured why not, after reading through here I am nervous now but still hopeful

PayPal is strongly recommended as the main go-to for disputes, as their typical responsiveness is much better than eBay's. However, if you've already opened a dispute with eBay, PayPal may not help much so as to not conflict with eBay's arbitration process. A rare exception to this would be if you paid using eBay bucks or other reward certificates, as eBay claims to have more direct oversight of these, however, you are generally still able to open a dispute with PayPal in these cases anyways.

Negative feedback starting to show up for toyclub89. I'm glad I stayed away. Those prices were too good to be true. I paid more with one*day_bid, but I'm confident that I'll get it.

Pretty unfortunate, but hopefully a few more people still luck out and get what they ordered, or barring that, at least a really good Lego figure? Personally, I don't think I'd even be all that mad if instead of random KO Lego men I got KO Kreons of the same characters I ordered.

Just came here to post about the negative feedback on toyclub89 and saw many people have reported it already. Glad I stayed away. Hopefully everyone's refunds will go smoothly.

I'm fairly convinced they're the exact same seller, and suspect they might either have a couple other accounts as well, or somehow partnered with a few others, too. Haven't bought from any of them yet, namely due to the extensive list of items for sale despite their relatively low feedback score and age of accounts. Just sorta gives off an extreme middleman ordering service vibe

There's a guy in the Fanstoys FB group who ordered from yellowb (FT Maverick I believe) and got him, if that helps.

Yeah I know, me too - I was all like ‘well if it’s a scam then oh well’ - fast forward to six weeks of mounting frustration (partly at myself!)

    Ooh, snap

It is better to file your refund claim through Paypal so that you got your money back in 10 days or less.
See the instructions in the first post of this thread.

    I second that! :)
I always claimed through ebay and they made me wait till it was past the estimated delivery date, which was usually a loooooong time, but due to this advice the last time I claimed it was through Paypal and much quicker :D

Since I’m new and haven’t posted yet, I’m just throwing my two cents in on a couple of sellers.
haron5 - Has about 2k feedback and only negative was someone who claimed their son ordered the figure and they want a refund. I got an oversized Optimus and it was great. Ordered on April 8, and received on April 25. (SpeedPAK)

Also ordered from mascotzone on April 28, and am still waiting but he sent me 4 tracking numbers for the figures. Even preordered a TE-01 from him because I was feeling optimistic. Haven’t received them yet but did some tracking number looking and they’re legit. We’ll see if it’s what I ordered though. Fingers crossed.

And lastly I ordered from one*day_bid last night. So I’ll report back on them. But 28k feedback and all looks solid so I felt good about it.

A seller removing all of their items isn't a very good indication of anything, good or bad. If you have a link to the seller's page, feel free to post it if you'd like any thoughts or advice. At least based on this, it seems extremely unlikely a seller would go to the trouble of scamming somebody for just one item, or even just one type of item listing. To be honest, that's kind of like an early 2000's lazy American scam, if anything.
