Oh shit, is that some Starcom I see?
My fiancé tracked down a Shadow Vampire and two Shadow Parasites at a local toy shop. Great concept, but releasing it in late 1987 doomed the line.

Yeah, a few starcom there. Absolutely love that line, real shame it didn't last for longer.

    Yeah
Figures with magnetic boots for which ferromagnetic panels are used on the vehicle toys. Vehicles that each have spring-driven motor gimmicks that still function three decades later with little chance of the system breaking down due to degradation of the batteries or wiring, a feature which essentially means they're technically waterproof.
But 1987 saw the tail end of GI Joe: A Real American Hero and its direct-to-video film, gimmick-heavy post-movie Transformers, Masters of the Universe was still going strong, and so was The Real Ghostbusters cartoon. All that competition left little room in toy aisles for a new property like Starcom

I suddenly wonder if the figures could actually fit in the Dia pilot seats because of their wider stance. I see Mikey riding the little pod thing in the box art but not in the actual photo in the lower right corner.

Maybe but they'd probably look kind of funny doing it.
