How does that work? We have the Autobot's being chased out of Chicago by Galvatron and Stinger; Optimus and Galvatron fighting in Texas minutes later.
Yeah, it's meant to be countryside outside of Chicago. Like that factory they are chased through is meant to be in Texas, but they shot that in Detroit.
Even though the countryside through which they're driving immediately after fleeing K.S.I. in Chicago STRONGLY resembles the Yeager's neighborhood down in Texas (I'm assuming that was really in Illinois, anyone know for sure?), it is not SUPPOSED to be Texas in that particular chase and fight scene. Just like, say, Chicago's Uptown Theater was transplanted to Texas, Talbot & 2nd intersection street signs and all. Tellingly, the car upon which Optimus collapses and in which Tessa is trapped even has an Illinois license plate. And, YES, I'm WELL aware of the Chicago highways and skyscrapers and fire-escapes transplanted into "Washington D.C." for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. But the point stands. At NO POINT WHATSOEVER is there ANY indication that they drove all the way to Texas in mere minutes, let alone AT ALL. Once they go to K.S.I., everything happens in Illinois until everyone departs for China.
Not to mention, watching the actual drive from Chicago to Texas would be awfully boring and take up the entire movie.
