Various Transformers comics (4-8 of MTMTE and a couple of Armada issues) in return for God Neptune, Magmatron, Depth Charge, Corahda, and Dirgegun, plus a water-squirting Magmatron SD and a hyper toy kit version of Corahda, and boxes to DC, GN, and Magmatron. It was to a guy in Japan, but I only had to send my stuff to his folks' home in Canada - and wait nearly a month for that behemoth of a box to arrive! EDIT: By the way, once I sold Magmatron (who I hated, and I love dinos), Dirgegun (meh), and Corahda (wouldn't mind getting him back), God Neptune and Depth Charge might as well have been free.
It's not exactly miraculous, but I got BM Rattrap and that snake-armed Skeletor for $4 each. Then there were the deep-discounted Hasbro reissues, of course. I don't know, I don't really have the knack for getting the really sweet deals. Paid full price for almost everything in my life, actually. Threads like this make me feel dumb.
hmm lets see .. several years ago .. i would say .. 98 or 99 .. I got a Complete metroplex, Complete sunstreaker, Complete megatron, Complete Optimus prime, Complete Dirge, Complete Skywar, Complete Devastator, a Complete set of Insecticons, Complete Soundwave, Complete hound, Complete astrotrain, and complete blitzwing for something like 50 dollers from a comic book store.. Before that i had 2 or 3 big hauls at flea markets where i got .. several Dozen Transformers for about 30-40 dollers..
My best cheap haul was...hm...A-Megatron, when he first came out, for $14 shipped from an Amazon.com zshop. I've gotten others for cheap, but they're usually incomplete to some degree.. Oh, wait...best cheap haul was SDCC '05 Skywarp with exclusive key, which I got for free just for showing up. That was my best cheap haul.
Only cheap hauls I mainly get are Big Lots and used game hauls. Never lucky enough to find any at a thrift store. But then again I rarely look. Would feel like a dick lol buying from there when I have the money to get them new. Nothing wrong with it though. Don't have any problems with those who do. Don't blame ya at all. Passed on a pallet full of Energons for 1.29 ea Still trying to find one of those clearanced Supreme Starscreams Rather some poor kids end up with them.
I got some stuff from a friend who sold me his TF s cheap about 1,5 years ago I gave him a bout 600-700 SEK about 90 USD and it included Metroplex c9 only missing one knee cap Snarl complete c9 Onslaught c9 complete Swindel c9 complete Blast off c9 complete Hot rod c9 complete I thought that was a pretty good deal.
Car boot sale my brother went to a couple of years back. He got lucky and found it in a box under some other stuff. For anyone ever going to flea markets / garage sales, always check those boxes! You'd be amazed what you'd find in there.
I got a humanalliance shadow blade sideswipe clearance from target for $6.99 & I got a classics ultra Magnus, cliffjumper, smokescreen, grimlock(missing weapon), acid storm, starscream, jetfire, all complete and in good shape for $5 apiece from a comic book shop, I also got the iGear ark set from the same place for $40 bucks, but in retrospect, I still may have overpaid for it...
Word. I saw the dot on the icon next to the thread meaning I had posted in it and I couldn't remember ever doing so. Maybe because it was FIVE YEARS AGO. Hell, the link I posted doesn't even exist anymore.
Round here, things rarely, if ever, go on clearance. But there was one time I got something in a charity shop. The Cybertron Voyager Starscream/Vector Prime two pack loose but almost complete (missing the minicon - although there's a chance that it was simply at the bottom of the basket they were in, and I never got the chance to check). Good condition - £4 for the pair. They wanted £3 each but i talked them down.
