I think it's him trying to be passive-aggressive against the comics again, since IIRC he hates pretty much everybody from MTMTE.

Which, truth be told, I think a lot of people would say Star Saber shouldn't have been included for obvious reasons.

I'm more disappointed than anything about how Airachnid turned out. She's the first female Decepticon in a Transformers show to be well and truly sadistically evil, and they totally wasted her. Then again, this is Prime we're talking about, so I shouldn't be that surprised...

 

I could've done without the humans in Prime. I hate when Transformers focuses too much on human characters. I'm ok with them being secondary characters, but the focus should always be on the Transformers themselves.

For G1 characters- don't care for Chip, Alpha Trion and (ready the pitch forks) Omega Supreme.


Beast Wars Characters- None really come to mind


Beast Machines Characters- Nightscream


RID 1- A majority of the Autobots. Especially the Rail Racer team and the Autobot brothers.


Unicron Trilogy- The human characters


Animated- Bumblebee and Sentinel Prime


Prime- Smokescreen and Ultra Magnus. Bumblebee was okay


RID 2- Thunderhoof

 

I'm still amazed that they never did anything with him their.

Luckily Marvel and MTMTE has that covered.

 

Riptide in mtmte has yet to be given a reason for inclusion but who knows maybe one day he will have an interesting plot thread.

Of course obvious ones like nightscream too.

 

Honestly I felt like the humans were much more secondary in the second season. They pretty much sat out the last arc about the Omega Lock as it is, only returning for the season finale. In season three they only had about one episode majorly focused on humans, and that was on the two supporting ones, Fowler and June. After season one I felt like they really toned down the humans a lot.

Yeah, hopefully Riptide gets an issue developing him soon. Nightbeat was this for me until #44, hopefully something similar happens with Riptide.

 

RID Filch. She was a great concept, but her VA is not very good, and there's no character to Filch at all.
Airachnid is another example. Awesome concept, but she had no real depth character, and her VA didn't fit what they were trying to go for.

As for the Beast Era, I don't care for how Silverbolt was so romantic with BlackArachnia. It made him too human. I like my Transformers to not be so human-like in behavior.
The Prime humans were awful and added nothing to the plot, except to annoy me.

 

Any character that is included for fanservice and not actually developed properly by the writers.

 

Minimus Ambus- why, just, just, why?

Nightscream- Say what you want about BB, Nightscream singlehandedly made me hate Beast Machines.

Bumblebee (movie/prime)- he's is what happens when you take the "mute and cute" and "kid appeal" tropes up to 11.

 

Ya, back in the pre-writing stage, Nightscream was to be a female survivor molded after Newt from Aliens.

Personally, I find Ambus much easier to deal with if you just think of Ambus as Magnus' Brainmaster, like Saber to Star Saber. It's pretty much the same concept, anyways...

 

Yeah, the humans were, for the most part, tolerable in Prime. The creators were able to keep them secondary, unlike the humans in the live movies. But that's a discussion for another thread (http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...n/1051851-why-do-movies-get-so-much-hate.html).

 

But why? Why did they feel the need to put a little man in Magnus? It's not original, the "big guy turns out to be a little guy in a robotic suit" has been done before. And by that point, why did they feel compelled to make Magnus an OCD rule-obsessed lawman? That character type only exists for others to prove "it's ok to losen up a little", other than being the "strawman", this character archetype does little else.

 

ambus will just occupy that little space in the bubble to pilot the packaging to my storage bins.  

 

Airachnid's underrated, but not good. She had pretty much the same flaws as everyone in that show.

I am very pleased to see we're harping on something other than Bumblebee, though.

The Beast. Wait, what's the Beast? I don't recall any sort of thing existing. Hum.

Pretty much everyone in Energon. I'd say 'cept for Demolishor', but if they weren't going to do anything with him he probably shouldn't have shown up in the first place.

Also, Prime Ultra Magnus. Anyone else find it sort of weird how he just showed up, became the boss, got his ass kicked, and became a guy to be right to Wheeljack. Just straight up calling Wheeljack out for being stupid. I can get behind that, but who cares?

Speaking of Prime, maybe all mention of Impactor, Roadbuster, Rotorstorm, Tailgate, Seaspray and co because maybe fans LIKE THOSE GUYS.

Also I liked Bumblebee in Predacon Rising, and I really like him in RID, but he didn't even need to be around most of the series.

There's more than I'm probably forgetting. Many characters didn't necessarily have to exist in G1... like Sideswipe... and four of the Dinobots. But whatever.
