Looking for opinions here- A number of characters have undergone very noticeable modifications throughout the three films. Which one of each character is your favorite? 1) Optimus Prime OR DOTM Optimus Prime 2) TF Bumblebee OR ROTF Bumblebee OR DOTM Bumblebee 3) Ironhide OR DOTM Ironhide with dual blasters 4) Ratchet OR DOTM Green/White Ratchet 5) ROTF Sideswipe or DOTM Sideswipe (though, negligible difference to his robot mode) 6) TF Megatron OR ROTF Megatron OR DOTM Megatron 7) TF Starscream OR Tattooed Starscream 8) ROTF Soundwave OR DOTM Soundwave Personally, I prefer DOTM Prime, DOTM Bee (love the stockiness to him), Ironhide with his arm cannons, original Ratchet, original Sideswipe, original Starscream, and DOTM Soundwave. I really like both ROTF and DOTM Megatron's designs, for their various story reasons.
I liked pretty much all of the updates, especially Starscream, DOTM Megatron, and Soundwave. Didn't really care for Irohide not having arm cannons anymore though.
1. DOTM Optimus. He looks sick with those abs, and all those toys in his trailer. Though I prefer the blades coming from within his arms. 2. DOTM Bumblebee looked pretty cool. 3. Personally, I don't find it hard to think that Ironhide of all people would mind carrying around both his arm cannons and those Heavy Iron guns from Que. 4. While I've definetly warmed to DOTM Ratchet's change in paint job, he still looks a bit too dark for me. I liked his original paint job better, but this one at least distinguishes him from Bumblebee. 5. No real difference, besides the Convertible hood. 6. ROTF and DOTM both are great, I can't decide between the both of them. 7. ROTF Starscream. The tatoos look badass, and he seems to look less bulky then he did in the first film. 8. DOTM Soundwave was impressive and my favorite. I still liked his ROTF form though.
Let's make this easy, 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 - DOTM designs. I'm not gonna lie, when I saw Ironhide with those massive Iron guns, I was like, "what the, where's his iconic cannons?", I was a bit upset with the choice.
In Bee's and Swipes bio it states they both like to keep up-to-date with their alt modes, so that explains it for those 2.
DOTM Optimus (well i like to see him with the older model but this new model looked cooler because Optimus looked like he has 6 packs) TF1 Megatron Tatoos Starscream Ironhide with Dual Blasters Yellow Ratchet I think Sideswipe is changed at all Soundwave? I like his face in DOTM but i don't like his body and Alternate mode The ROTF body model is better because the Satellite mode is bigger and cooler
1) DOTM Optimus Prime - It fits his personality more... As the collector of many faces. 2) TF Bumblebee - Even though I hate Bumblebee... I think this worked the best. 3) DOTM Ironhide with dual blasters - Like Optimus, it fit his personality of the weapons specialist. 4) Ratchet OR DOTM Green/White Ratchet - Either or.... Ratchet looked cool in any color... But still would of looked good in the Rescue Ratchet colors aka G1... 5) DOTM Sideswipe - Fits his badass personality. 6) TF Megatron OR ROTF Megatron OR DOTM Megatron - To be honest, I loved ALL Megatron Design.... They all have reasons they are very cool looking.... Movie 1 is a giant speeding cybertronian jet, which gave him the edge but also he seems a bit more like a giant robot monster or as I call him "Monster Megatron" Movie 2 is a tank that flies, HOW COULD YOU NOT LIKE THAT... It felt like they were trying to mix G1 and G2 in to a monster.... So it worked well. Movie 3 is a human vehicles, which is awesome... Megatron at last gave up and took that form... And its a badass looking truck... It fits him more then ever, but only if he used it more... As for the robot mode, it doesn't seem as monsterish if you don't include the face but it does feel like more of his type of look. 7) TF Starscream - I feel like this fit the personality more... Just because the tattoos kind of say, "I'm bad ass" but to be honest... He is not bad ass in the 2nd or 3rd... He has his moments but not enough to have those tattoos... If he did fight like he did in movie 1 then I would say the tattoos work, but nope... He turned in to G1 Starscream. 8) ROTF Soundwave OR DOTM Soundwave - I love both designs ALOT... They fit him personality.... I think Soundwave is the best designed robot in the movie, a shame he didn't get alot of action in ROTF, but at least he got a cool mode in DOTM.
1) Optimus is the same in all 3 movies except for his protoform mode in the first movie and the addition of his trailer in the 3rd movie and I don't really like the look of him with the trailer combination. 2) There are actually 4 different versions of Bumblebee, not three. He started out as an older Camero before scanning the 2007. I don't really like any of them because the robot mode sucks but if I had to choose a vehicle, the 2nd one, the one the Bumblebee edition Camero is based on is the best. 3) Ironhide? There's a difference? 4) Ratchet? There's a difference? 5) ROTF Side Swipe. I like the DOTM version too but I prefer the swords to the guns. 6) DOTM Megatron because his hood helps to hide his ugly face. 7) Tattooed Starscream 8) ROTF Soundwave.

Soundwave IMO doesn't count because in ROTF he was a protoform. The my work put into character design in TF2 meant that the protoforms (unlike in TF1) weren't all the same. I don't think Ironhide counts either sicne he only got a new weapon.
He was a satellite and protoforms still count. Dark of the Moon Optimus Prime shouldn't count because it's not a new design. It's the addition of a trailer that turns into power up armor. The cab that is Optimus Prime is exactly the same in all 3 movies. If you count the trailer in Dark of the Moon then you also have to count Jetfire in Revenge of the Fallen. The trailer is more of an upgrade to Jetfire than it is to Optimus because it seems to take the place of Jetfire's corpse as Prime's flight armor. Personally I think they used Jetfires parts to build the trailer.
No, DOTM Optimus does have some very noticeable design changes on his regular body as well. He now has silver metallic abs replacing some of the truck bits of the last two movies. He also has new forearm guards. Not as big a change as Bee, but still different.
