I was thinking about my collection in general, and it occurred to me that I didn't have a Ratchet. At all.

I had G1 Ironhide and didn't like the mold, even back then. Haven't seen a Ratchet (Bayverse or traditional) that I've liked enough to buy since then. I'm on the fence about the Siege version - I don't think I want to pay Walgreens prices for one.

I was curious as to what characters are most conspicuously absent from everyone else's collection?

 

Ratchet, cliffjumper ( sweeps if they count) rotf twins,

 

For the longest time it was Starscream, Prime, and Megatron, but I knocked them out in the last few months. Now Ratchet I guess. Or Sunstreaker.

 

Beast Wars anything, despite loving that series more.

 

Chromedome despite being one of my favorite characters and having Hardhead Highbrow and a Brainstorm but there hasn't been a good one yet. Probably in wfc 3.

 

I don't have Starscream at all.

 

This is a good topic. Just for the record, I don't feel compelled to get a character just because they're popular.

Some I don't have because I haven't found the right one yet, some because I don't like them, some because they're too expensive or keep eluding me.

I had the red cross variant of G1 Ratchet in the 80s. He was flimsy on his own, but I loved the mobile platform part with him (and Ironhide). Don't have that anymore, nor do I have any modern versions. Wanted CW/UW Ratchet those were too exclusive. Maybe I should consider the Siege release for the repair platform mode.

 

I've no MP seekers.

I keep meaning to pick up Thunder cracker. He'd be in place of Starscream. Never was a fan.

 

Bumblebee. I think because he’s been pushed so much I never really got any of his toys plus being a Unicron Trilogy kid I have Hotshot.

 

I've never had any representation of BW Dinobot. He's one of my favorite characters but I never got the original, the Universe/Henkei one came out after I initially lost interest in Transformers toys, and the MP looks amazing but I haven't been able to justify the price. I'd really like to see a new Generations version with modern engineering.

 

I don't have the Coneheads either.

 

I lack a Sunstreaker and have no MP Decepticons

 

Sunstorm. I used to love him to bits as a kid, but I’ve never owned a single Sunstorm period.

I had also never owned figures of Ramjet or Thrust until I find the classics versions at a thrift store for $3.

Also Star Saber. I’ve never owned a figure of him despite being my favorite character.

 

Grapple & Thrust

Earthrise will (hopefully) take care of both problems as well as a Ramjet not in G2 colors.

Plus most of the Beast Wars cast not named Depth Charge, Rampage, Rhinox, Rattrap, & Waspinator.

 

Given my predilection for Deceptions, I’m surprised I don’t have a Soundwave.

Shockwave, Megatron, Devastator, Bludgeon, Overlord, Deathsaurus, Thunderwing, Sixshot, Black Shadow, Piranacon, Liokaiser, Gnaw, but no Soundwave.

 

I don't have Springer at all.

The closest I came was when I saw Siege Springer at Target and they denied me a sale, so I still don't own one. I've since lost interest in the figure. Otherwise I own just about at least one version of the remaining mainstream characters.

 

Sureshot, Pointblank, Snapdragon, Barrage, Ransack, Venom, Needlenose, Windsweeper, Ruckus, Crankcase, Dogfight, Override, Backstreet, Doubledealer, Joyride, Slapdash, Landfill, Quickmix...

 

On the Decepticon side, the most glaring omissions are Thundercracker and Galvatron. I was tempted by a couple of the recent generations toys but never quite pulled the trigger on any of them.

 

Surprisingly, Megatron. The only Megatron toy I have is the Voyager from the first Movie which I plan to ditch for the 2007 SS for being too small in scale with my main collection.
