Transformers that make your blood boil, whether due to bad design or bad writing.
For example I get weirded out by RID sideswipe because it looks like he has hair, and not in the Michael bay way.

 

Can’t see the image, but I’m guessing you mean RID15 and not the original RID. Yeah, that sucks. Hair or the suggestion of it has no business on a Transformer, unless they have a beast alt mode.

I don’t like ROTB Mirage’s asymmetric head, either, but I hate that entire character design, including the personality and the voice. I despise Bayverse Hound, too. Both of those are insults to a couple of my favorite G1 Autobots.

 

I have nothing against Roulette herself, but I despise the kibble placement. (Edit: apparently she's a redeco of RiD 2001 Side Burn so that goes for him too)



And while I like the Beast Machines designs overall, I am displeased by Primal's gigachad chin.

Look at how they massacred my boy.
They made him a hunchback and incredibly weedy, they gave fave him a google maps marker for a face, his colours are completely wrong, and THEY BLOODY GAVE HIM HIGH HEELS.

 

RID15 Bulkhead. They chucked his more distinct lower jaw for a "normal" face, but it absolutely looks off.

 

It's less about the designs in particular, but the medium they were portrayed in, but I really feel like most if not all the Earthspark designs (especially the main humans) got done dirty by the awful 3d animation it got stuck with.



It looks leaps and bounds better in 2d as done by Nich Roche himself

 

I liked his RiD2015 design so much more. He actually looked a lot more imposing. Too bad he was still written as an idiot, since that's the only way the Bee team could've won.

My biggest pet peeve is when you can't store weapons other than pegging them onto the roof or on the sides. I also disliked the animal-based designs of the Decepticons from RiD2015.

 

I didn’t even realize Bulkhead had a RID15 design— I had to look it up. I honestly think I prefer it.

My only problem with either of the girls that came out of this design is just that the Sideburn toy is more broad chested than you might think and the ladies don't wear that very well. Otherwise I generally favor the kibble. Beast Machines maximal designs on the other hand are just completely ugly all the way through.

While I agree the designs look marginally better in 2D, frankly I don't think I ever liked Roche's art or designs outside of LSotW anyway.

 

I lost the energy to “hate” fictional characters and designs a long time ago but a lot of the Evergreen designs don’t tickle my fancy. In my opinion they should just use the actual G1 designs for evergreen and not some weird confused in-between old and modern G1 updates.

 

Yeah, the evergreen designs almost look like “by-committee” products, which are typically extensively normalized so as to not be polarizing, but in doing so lose any interesting aspects.

I never liked how skinny TF Prime's Starscream's and Soundwave's arms were. Made them look weak as hell.

 

Probably not a popular choice but Sari's giraffe neck...I just find it so repulsive, it's half the length of her entire torso.
