0%. Apparently, the Dark Energon figures were originally supposed to be Wal-Mart exclusives but they eventually decided to pass, so the figures aren't going to turn up at Wal-Mart. Can't imagine Hasbro would have offered these to BBTS without offering them to Target and/or TRU first, so it's unlikely either of those retailers is going to decide to carry them later. And, as far as discount stores (TJ Maxx, Marshalls, etc), BBTS doesn't seem to send items to the discounters no matter how poorly they're selling (ie - the Seacons), so that's probably not going to happen either.

It's exclusive to BBTS, so no chance, they'll hold onto the stock until it's gone.

I'd say that there's a chance other figures which are also Dark Energon styled may pop up as exclusives in other stores, but the 6 current ones, won't ever.

    Indeed.

But the one poster did have it correct. it was supposed to be exclusive to walmart. WM didn't want anything to do with it due to Prime still clogging shelves.

So BBTS was like "Heyyyyyy" (in knockout's voice) and Hasbro was like Heyyyyyyyy (in Tracks voice) ...and the rest is History. :lol

wasn't the ultimate generations gift set supposed to be a walmart exclusive? couldn't stores later change their minds and pick up the dark energon set?

What matters is whether Hasbro made them before or after Walmart changed their mind on them.

If they *did* make a Walmart sized order, there's no way in hell BBTS can sell that many, and we're likely to see them at Ross/TJX/Marshalls/whatever in the Spring.
If they *didn't* make them before Walmart changed their mind, then they probly made a smaller batch for BBTS just to recoup development costs.

Unfortunately, unless Hasbro says one way or the other, we won't know till they show up.

The Generations "Ultimate Gift Set" with Prime/Jazz & Legends TC/Black prime was show with Walmart in the initial solicitation, but has now shown up online at Hasbro Toy Shop, TRU.com, Walmart.com, and Amazon. I would hazard a guess that this set *was* produced in Walmart quantities before they changed their mind and now Hasbro is trying to sell as many as they can through normal (ie: online only for now) means. I'd think that the Generations ultimate set is more likely to show up at discounters, but that depends on how many the previously mentioned websites can sell.

The Spiderman "Ultimate Gift Set"(s) have also shown up online *AND* I've seen the smaller one (Blue venom and 2 spidermens) at Marshalls already. Spiderman doesn't have a following like TFs do though, so we won't know till they show up (or don't show up) at discounters.

This is a misconception as well. (and not meant directly at the OP, just as an FYI for everyone).

Individual retailers *do not* send excess stock to Marshalls/Ross/TJX/etc. If the stock came to regular retail stores (Target/WM/TRU), they clearance it at the store level. Some chains have "clearance stores" (typically at Outlet Malls) where they ship excess stuff from their (ie store chain) warehouses. Blatant examples of this are Nordstrom (regular store) and Nordstrom Rack (their "discount" store).

Anything that Marshalls/TJX/Ross gets they buy directly from the manufacturer, *not* from other retailers.

The only caveat to this rule is that Target takes their store-level clearance that doesn't sell and donates it to local Goodwill for that store (or maybe its by District) but then Goodwill will ship it to their warehouse to be spread out to their stores. It won't end up at Ross/TJX/Marshalls.

If walmart would have said yes to the exclusives i'd LOVE to get D.E knockout at retail price, but the $20 preorder wont hurt either considering its only a few bucks more than retail

It **IS** a BBTS exclusive. Why isn't it marketed as a BBTS and Robot Kingdom? I blame the loose retail laws in China, that now govern Hong Kong as well, for that. I'm pretty sure that RK isn't "supposed" to have Dark Energon stuff, but being where they are, getting it probably isn't really hard.

to inflate the prices since BBTS has it as an exclusive is deplorable. especially when you think about the overpriced shipping. target, walmart, tru, amazon are not overpricing their exclusives.

It's BBTS so I'm going to say no chance. Large quantity or not I've never seen them share their exclusives with anybody.
