This came up when the Beast Wars 10th reissues were announced. Apparently Hasbro lost track of the mold after they used it for Botcon Tigatron several years back, unless they can somehow dig up the mold it can't be reissued.

It's a pity, he's really a great mold. If ever there was one who deserved to be released at mass retail instead of just as a convention exclusive, it's X-9 Ravage.

Yeah it's a real shame - from what I heard Hasbro wanted to use him in the 10th anniversary line but couldn't find the mold. :(

I was watching BW the other day and regretted selling mine, a reish would be great, doesn't even need to transform, just come with a replica tape, or a G1 ravage for alt node.

By making several hundred new molds for new product every year and occasionally changing the manufacturing company in China.

Any chance they could reverse engineer it? It was derived from the TM Cheetor mold right? If they still have that mold, they "could" recreate the Ravage mold but I doubt they'd ever take the time to :(

LOL, it is understandable but how about they loose some of the suck ass molds they keep rehashing and keep the good ones. Why didn't takara get the mold back when the exclusive was done. Sorry these are just common sense question to me.

back when I got mine, the average going price was $70. has he gone up much? I really don't see that as THAT outrageous, especially considering it was a japanese exclusive figure anyway.

IF you can find one, yes, he usually fetches quite a bit more than $70. I just browsed close to 150 pages today on Yahoo! Japan Auctions and I saw maybe 2 X-9 Ravages.

Because of those KOs and reissue Soundwave and whatnot, Im not buying that whole "we lost the molds LOL" bullshit from Hasbro anymore. And it also makes very little sense that Takara did not get this back to them.
