I prefer the scrap metal than skullhide.
Eh, I disagree. I don't think it's "so ugly" honestly. It looks pretty good to me. The face is a bit weird, but then again, Bumblebee's face was far more bizarre in the Bayverse and he had carried it for 5 movies. You know, thinking about it, Jazz, Prime without a face plate, and Ratchet all had weird ass faces.
Anyways, I'm just happy with the direction they are going with. I want more of this and less of the tiny pieces of metal glued together. The problem with these designs were that they were rushed so they didn't receive the love and attention like with Bumblebee and Prime. Refine this design a bit more with an actual Earth mode and it should look solid.
Given that we're going to see a sequel to Bumblebee with perhaps a bigger budget we'll definitely get a more polished and refined Autobot and Decepticon cast from the opening.
They all remind me of War for Cybertron the game, and I think it stands to reason they can look at these designs for some inspiration.
There's even tinier pieces on this lot. I hope the designs are worked on a bit next film.
As I've been saying, the Cybertron designs were designed in a a super short amount of time. According to the artist, some of these were only designed with one draft, and not a lot of time to experiment. Furthermore, they were designed to be seen for a matter of seconds. Obviously they're going to look worse than the designs they had longer to work with, it's almost not fair to compare them. If/when they pop up in a future movie, I guarantee they'll give them revised designs.
Where's this from?
My first thought was Red Skull.
I've come to notice that robot mode Bee lacks any of the VW symbols. I thought it was just the higher end toys, but even the model in the movie lacks the badges.
That face is all kinds of wrong.
I miss OT Ironhide already.
That doesn’t look anything like a cat.
I feel the same about Ironhide but I always assumed Ravage was a jaguar lol.Maybe it has to do with his Alternators figure
This made me forget Ravage was even in the movie. I tried to remember where the robot dog came in.
Ravage is a panther lol
I know. I'm saying that the model looks so little like a cat and more like a dog that I forgot Ravage was even in the movie.
Saying you forgot Ravage in the movie as a joke is strange as a casual fan of the series that knew and saw the G1 robot designs would know that was Ravage just by looking at him and he legit said "Ravage, eject.'
Galvatron is probably my favorite bayverse design minus maybe the face and the hole in the chest
Hearing that they basically had to slap together what they could from the same few models or something gives me a little mercy, but yeah, that’s pretty shitty. But of course, “omgggg I finally got my G1 Transformers like I should’ve all alooooooong”. Give me lovable cowhead Jess Harnell Ironhide anyday.
His face does look terrible and definitely needs a major overhaul, but the rest of the body looks alright to me, I like how rounded and strong he looks.
