High Moon will likely be forced to work on Call of Duty. I think to work on a Transformers have again they'd have to become independent just to have the ability to create original games. This gen of gaming had been poor for new IPs from big companies.

Give me a sequel to Devastation, any day, over this. Or if you want a shooter, how about (something like) the Armada game for PS2. This is more a critique on where video games are going in general, but I don't like this forced-multiplayer, forced-subscription, pathetic offline single-player option, paying for in-game 'virtual items' just to progress after you've already bought the game, garbage.

Don't get me wrong; if they do it right this could be amazing. But it's clear the model their going after (e.g. Fortnite) and that's very unfortunate.

 

That’s what I was thinking. Their studio is far too small to be tackling another Transformers game. Especially if it’s a proper sequel to FOC, since that’s an extremely ambitious project.

 

I've never been this unenthused for a tf game announcement, at least when the movie games came out as I young enough to love anything with tf branding slapped on it. But this, this is just deflating, not only is it a modern lootbox era video game so I'm already giving it a suspicious look, for no fault of its own and it's even more G1 which has bored me of everything else in the franchise, so it's just another piece of content to shrug at.

 

it's f2p so we know it'll have micro-transactions but we'll have to lookout for loot boxes or a battle pass

Honestly, if it's F2P I'm much more cool with microtransactions, but it's still hard to care that much, especially without footage.

 

I would love it if it came to the Switch, so I can play this game while laying in the hammock.

although free to play often means micro transactions out the tailpipe....but since it's a franchise i support maybe i can drop a couple bucks on it if the game is good.

I'm looking forward to seeing this games progress. That being said, I pray for the day we get a Transformers RPG. I haven't played a good sci-fi RPG since Mass Effect.

 

Is this coming to the west? If the old Transformers Online had come to the west I would\'ve played it. That said, we need a freakin\' War for Cybertron reboot to coincide with the current line and Netflix series, I had really hoped they would do thus and yet nothing has come of it. What an incredibly huge missed opportunity. Ah well, maybe we could still get a video game tie in later in the line. It really sucks that Hasbro doesn\'t seem to understand or care much about making good video games based on their properties as we just don\'t get very many.

Yes, this game will have a Western release.

It’s been rumoured to coincide with the War for Cybertron toyline. Or at least be akin to it. I imagine this game will be released sometime next year. Perhaps around the time of the Netflix series. But none of this is confirmed.

It would be a smart move by Hasbro. I mean, the majority of Transformers media revolves around the toys themselves.

 

Ok glad to hear that at least. It's still not a proper AAA 3rd person action game sadly but at least it's something...

 

Hopefully this comes to the US and if it's a G1 base well I want them base off the cartoon character models like in TF Devastation and also I want to play as every G1 character even add customize/create your on character as well.

 

I think this game would have less skepticism and be a more successful game overall if they did a good single-player as well as a multiplayer. Highmoon showed you could do it, and I wish that was the way they were going with it.

(though i think the multiplayer aspect could have been improved)

I would much rather pay for an amazing $60 TF game with both of those than a free to play multiplayer that will no doubt be riddled with microtransactions.
