Yeah, that sucks too. Considering mine is literally snapped off at the ball joint on the head, I literally can't believe they packed it back up and sent it to me. Totally messed up, and I'm avoiding them for batteries in the future too.
I just bought my Gurren Lagann and bought a brand new one off ebay sale. I tried changing the head pieces with a spudger damn nearly could not get it out I literally almost ruined the entire face trying to push it out. I contacted the distribution company, but probably gonna get the worst of it as well.
Mine shipped out from BBTS yesterday after almost a year being on PO. I'm hoping I don't encounter any issues like you have.
Yea if you run into the issue where you can't remove the face plates don't force it and just contact the milestone email and they should send you a replacement since you bought it off BBTS. Im still waiting on a reply for me but not sure how it's going to go since I bought mine off ebay.
If they have one in stock. I just ran into a defect with a Giant Robo from BBTS. They couldn't replace it. I mostly fixed it myself and they gave me some cash back. A very fair amount. I'm guessing it was their profit margin on the toy, which is smart business move.
So had a little bit of a back and forth with Milestone, and after a bit of some miscommunication, I was finally able to confirm with them that I will be a getting replacement head/face for my Gurren Lagann. As mentioned earlier by Junkmech, they don't do support for things bought from ShowZStore, as they said in an email to me "We are technically an exclusive distributor for the Japanese Market." Will probably buy future CCS products from HLJ.
Great news! Glad you can get a part - I'm also going exclusively JPN market for parts from now on. I last heard from ShowZstore about parts on Thursday last week, marking 8 days of no communication and almost a full month since my broken copy of Mazinger Zero arrived. I have until November to file a PayPal dispute, a dispute I will undoubtedly win. Only problem is, I like ShowZ and order stuff from them pretty frequently and would rather not burn my bridges with them. I just really want a non-broken figure haha, it's incredibly frustrating because I've never been more excited for a toy in my literal entire life, so.

Got my replacement head and face for Gurren Lagann today. Tested it and the face slides out as intended.
Yeah, battery drain is common due to the touch sensitive switch. It needs to be on all the time and will drain the the batteries.

my gurren lagann replacement head and face got here last week. about two months from when i contacted them and i also randomly got a notice from DHL that i had a package arrive lol
