Dragonball Z also had to contend with adapting a manga that was barely ahead of the show. And that was also like two decades ago.

Castlevania has no such excuse.

 

Watched season 2 today. Really awesome. Wish it was longer.

According to Wikipedia, his full name is Rolf Peter Ingvar Storm. He’s an interesting fellow, as an actor.

Yeah, most of the monsters are pretty boring, which is pretty sad for Castlevania.

I did like the ones that attacked the main trio when they were in the Belmont's basement, though.

 

I finished it up, I thought the lady was Troi at first.

It was very neat a monster huntin' show will be neat

 

This show is just....weird. Both writing and voice acting feels like it was done by non native English speakers. Not much actually happens in the story. And despite being a passion project that only exists because they really wanted to make a Castlevania show, it somehow lacks all passion.

 

Should have been live action.

 

Interesting thing, from what I read, this was originally pitched as a film. Maybe as a film series, even. That would explain the odd pacing a bit (though not everything). The first four episodes ("season 1") definitely felt more like a prologue movie than anything else.

 

Man, ep 7 was AMAZING...till that breakdown in the bedroom. That was weird.

Then the last ep was so boring......

 

It's more of an epilogue and to set up for season 3.

 

It was sad.

 

G'damn Hector better be a bad ass in the third season. He's much better than that in the game. Other than that, I think the show's great, apart from Grant going MIA.

Watching this series also brought up a continuity error I didn't notice or paid attention to before - Elisabetha's death is supposed to be the reason why Mathias transformed into Dracula. We jump to Symphony of the Night and we get Alucard's mother(named Lisa) who's being burned at the stake, but Dracula's already Dracula! Reading up on it on some Wiki speculates that the latter is probably a reincarnation of Drac's true love.

 

The pacing is maybe the worst thing about it. Although the scripting and overall plot are way up there as runner-up worst things. The most interesting thing about the series is watching an episode and wondering how they managed to mess up such an easy layup as Castlevania should have been.

 

I love this show, I just don't like that it has so few episodes.

 

Nice to see a US adult animation that isn't comedy and taking notes from the Japanese and Spawn TAS.

I'm so loving this show so far.
