Title says all. The two look almost similar, but i think the 3P one has articulated fingers. Can anyone help me on which one to get?
The original one is significantly smaller, and less articulated than the new one will be. The 3P one also doesn't look to have the trailer. Not sure what's most important for your collection, but they're completely different types of figures, other than color scheme.
The new 3P one is MP scaled, so he'll be around 9-10" to the top of his head. The old RID one is more in the 6" range or so. But if you find an RID one for under 50-60 bucks, he's plenty fun to have around. Can never have too many badass trucks laying around!
Hold off and see if they do a repaint of TR Optimus. Shouldn't be long, one way or the other. Definitely cheaper than 3P or a vintage Scourge.
Car Robots Scourge might be one of my favorite toys. Love the colors over the Laser Prime. Personally I think the articulation is adequate and I like the base mode alot. However if you just want the robot, I would go 3P.
He's still a great figure, but definitely needs a good update. My only qualm with the 3rd party one is the MP size, but while I'm getting it for sure, I'm still crossing my fingers that it will get a downsized KO like MP Prime did.
As you can see from the comparison photo below the 3rd party one is Masterpiece scale compared to the smaller original.
