I'm planning on picking up the ultra class universe optimus primal toy from a flea market transformer shop, and I noticed they also have RiD galvatron for sale there aswell. First off, is he worth getting? I haven't got any kind of autobot or decepticon leaders, let alone ultra class figures yet, so would he make a good decepticon leader? Is he decently poseable, and are his alt modes any good? Besides any other thoughts you have to discuss about the figure, are his fists 5mm? (I'm interested in getting the star saber and sky boom shield they have their aswell, so he needs fitting fists.)

You can turn him into a giant hand which you can then use to challenge people to duels with.

He is worth it though. Just be sure he has his mouthplate for the bat mode. That tends to go missing along with missiles and such.

Is his giant hand mode compatible with classics voyager megatron's giant gun mode?

    I don't think so...

But he's really one of my favourite Megatron figures. I'd pick him up if I was you.

One of the best Decepitcon moulds to ever come out from the RID/ Car Robots line IMO. So many plausibility transformation options....

It's a fun mold, just lots of small parts that you need to look for when buying. I love it though.

Isn't it the only original bad guy mold from the line?

That is still one of my favorite toys. There are 6 official modes on Megatron. The other 4 technically are only suppose to work with Galvatron but you can actually make him transform into all ten considering they're the exact same mold. (This is not true with the Japanese versions. Gigatron was retooled slightly for Devil Gigatron. The American versions both Megatron and Galvatron were made from the Devil Gigatron mold.)

He's actually really possible, he kind of has to be for some of his transformations to even work. And because of the way he's designed, he's actually really fun to just mess around with and create your own alt modes with him.

As someone else mentioned, make sure he has his weapons because they're important for some of his transformations such as forming the tusks of his elephant mode. You don't want to loose those things.

    I love Galvatrons robot mode.
Great paint applications, he's a sturdy figure, I think he makes an imposing Megatron/Galvatron
Ironically I'm not too keen on most of his alt modes.
The duel-headed dragon, the air craft, and the speedster modes are all okay, but I personally think the rest are crap.
I'd still pick him up, if only for the robot mode.

The only alt mode I never really liked was what the instructions referred to as his "boat" mode... I looked at that thing and thought "How the hell is this thing suppose to float?" It doesn't actually look like anything. It's more like they were running out of ideas for modes and just decided. THIS IS A BOAT!

IS THIS A THREAD ABOUT A CAR ROBOTS TOY?

Megatron/Gigatron is AWESOME. Super poseable without being too floppy, fun to transform without being a pain in the ass, all of his modes look great (even the goofier ones, like the boat and the ostrich), and he looks like the robot version of something you would have fought in Castlevania. I own three Megatrons; the RiD version, the RiD Galvatron, and a cool knockoff of Galvatron-in-Megatron-colors I must've bought some 14 years ago now, and I love all of them. I'm constantly impressed with how well it holds up despite being WAY older than I'm comfortable with, and I'd gladly buy another one now brand new if I found it. He poses well, he looks cool, and goddammit he's just FUN.

If it's still there, you need to get on that immediately. And then after you buy it, you need to find yourself a Fire Convoy/Optimus Prime to make him fight, because you'll be hard pressed to find a better Optimus toy unless you start buying Masterpieces.

Well, the reason I would be getting this one is because its at a flea market for less than 20 bucks. I don't have the money to be spending 40-100 dollars on getting a sealed one, especially if I was going to open it anyways.

I don't want it that badly, as I don't have much interest in the show (I'm slogging through energon and then going to watch cybertron before I consider what else to watch), so I probably won't be jumping on it anytime soon, I was just seeing if it was worth getting once I needed a decepticon leader. The reason I was considering getting it was because its cheap and at the flea market, so unless fire convoy shows up there cheap aswell, I won't be getting him as I don't want to pay more than 20 dollars.

I apologize if I come across as rude, I've been told I type a little toxicly, but I don't mean to offend or put down. Thank you all for your responses, but I likely won't be getting him, as I don't know of any easy way to check him over and see if any of the easily lost pieces are still there before I purchase him (Faceplate, tiny arms, etc).

Hey man, no worries. Good luck with Energon, it is as bad as you've heard (but I'd defend most of the toys). Cybertron is good. I might recommend doing Car Robots/RiD afterwards because it's tonally closer to those and it wouldn't be as jarring as if you watched, like, Masterforce afterwards (despite Masterforce being my favorite one of the Japanese TF shows).

A big definite yes as others have said. It really is a cool toy, and even though some of his alt. modes are pretty silly and ridiculous, they're still pretty cool.

And I really love the colors of Megatron (definitely more than Galvatron).
