I hate to sound like Rodimus74, but *ahem* Here comes the crowds of: * I don’t care what critics say! (If they say it’s bad) * Who cares what critics say (if they say its good). * Here come the YouTube reviews and reactions and theories and breakdowns! * Ugh it was just okay, it’s not phenomenal so calm down stop liking it so much! I’m glad to hear that apparently Ben Mendelssohn is really good, after he played so-so Krennic in Rogue One I was afraid we’d get a stinker of a villain after we’ve had a pretty good streak since Guardians 2, and hell all of Phase 3 besides Mads Mikkelsen.
I watched the Midnight's Edge video, and don't get what some people are fussing about. It actually goes out of its way to explain that Larson's comments are probably carefully crafted for marketing by Disney. *shrug* Sounds like reasonable speculation to me.
I liked Krenic; hardly revelatory and he was no Grand Moff Tarkin but he seemed cut from the same cloth as Adm. Ozzel if more academically gifted. Not much smarter in his dealings with Darth Vader though
I do like him, he’s certainky aged well with me as a lovable butt monkey who’s desperately trying to get promoted, but finds out he’s no match for Tarkin and Vader.
I’m pretty curious myself as to how he steals every scene he’s in. Considering we’ve hardly seen anything from him in the trailers.
We’ve genuinely barely seen anything, and apparently it’s a cosmic space movie, not something set on earth.
Oh man! I'd really like to discuss something I just read about the Captain Marvel movie, but since it MIGHT come close to POTENTIALLY crossing a line, and I don't want to offend the mods, I'll ask that people just send me a PM so I can show you the article/video. . . . I hope that post didn't cross the line. Of course they are. She's saying everything they want her to say. This entire situation is a carefully constructed narrative that some PR firm has put together. People really, and I mean REALLY need to take a psychology class that has a marketing focus. This is all done to manipulate people. The people behind the scenes don't care how they get people in the seats, it's just a matter of getting them in the seats. What they have Brie doing is going to accomplish just that. Half of marketing is psychographic. Oh well. Anyway, that's as far as I am willing to take the conversation in that direction. The mods have insisted that we not discuss anything when it comes to Brie Larson outside of the movie. I hope that my discussing the marketing of the movie hasn't cross a line.
Don’t forget that a member of the Nova Corps was in that movie too (John C. Reilly). If you want to include Fox Marvel, Dr. Doom from Fant4stic was in that too pulling double duty as a pilot and the Kong motion capture (although I think Toby Kebell wants to forget about Fant4stic too).
Captain Marvel Advance Ticket Sales Surpass Wonder Woman & Aquaman Looks like the early reactions gave the movie a boost.
