Hilarious In Hindsight, indeed.
So it took me two Targets and a Walmart to actually find one that still had copies, but I was able to pick up the Blu Ray Wednesday night. Just getting around to checking out the bonus features now.
Really? The Walmart by my house was fully stocked.
The Walmart was where I found it. The Targets were cleaned out except for 4K.
Ah, was it the Target exclusive? I'm thinking that's the only 4K target has, right?
I want to say they had a non steelbook edition as well, can't remember.
Do you think the MCU should bring in Rogue to absorb Ms Marvel's powers for a future film?
If they want to kick off Carol’s long history of being put through the meat grinder.
Sure... but after one of these movies decides to tell us what her powers actually are. Because her own movie sure as hell didn't bother to.
I’m not following. Her powers are energy projection/absorption, flight, and super strength. Was that not clear?
Maybe as a recurring anti-villain like Loki. Rogue's abilities to counter Carol's would be useful for stakes. But if to depower and leave Carol comatose? Then no. The X-Men are way overdone movie wise and need a shake up. Like, I wouldn't mind Wolverine again if he doesn't fully steal the spotlight and is paired with Jubilee whom for some reason barely had a role in the Fox movies.
There's a common perception that Jubilee's powers are "useless." She barely gets any notable role because no one knows how her powers actually work, all anyone seems to be familiar with is "sparkly lights."
No. They don't actually tell anyone that in the entire movie made to tell us that. She *does* a bunch of shit - eventually - but we never actually KNOW what her new-found powers actually are. She just randomly shoots shit from her fists like a cartoon, and destroys things by flying through them screaming “woo!”. Even someone as lame as Superman has his powers clearly laid out.
This chick, on the other hand... it’s just “well, whatever we just only sort of show you happening on screen... ummm... those... those are her powers”. For non comic readers, THAT is what’s unclear. All we know is that she absorbed some energy almost Bruce Banner style, mutated, and is now just inexplicably imbued with... stuff.
That's such double-standard nonsense. What Superhero HAS had their powers clearly laid out? Wonder Woman? No. Black Panther? No. Captain America? No. Aquaman? No.
In the movie we see her shooting beams, flying and having super strength. You don't need someone to pause the movie and explain that's what she does because we SEE her do that.
Double Standard issue?
I don't if it's right to brought up here and compare.
We accepted Wonder Woman as she is and her power set.
And Gal Gadot's movie is financial success.
Then here's Carol Danvers.
The she brought a never ending debate.
What went wrong?
Does Carol Danvers don't deserve the level of acceptance Wonder Woman have?
Maybe in Phase 5, in the X Men movie. Carol can be a guest star in that, since we'll have had a bit more of her in Phase 4. In Phase 5, Rogue steals her power and puts her in a coma. This can even be Rogue's arc in that movie, her coming to terms with what she did and can be how it leads her to join the X Men. Carol is in a coma, and recovers for the Phase 5 end teamup movie, so she's not out of the picture too long. Or, it could be why she's not available for that teamup movie, thus creating the tension and stakes because their big hitter is out of play, and the end credit scene is her finally waking up, to then go after Rogue in her Phase 6 movie. And that's her arc in her movie, learning to forgive Rogue for her actions, while to keep themes, the villain of her movie is going after someone for revenge but doesn't forgive and it ends up consuming them.
Separate names with a comma.
