Given the Hollywood power structure it's jobs way down in the Hollywood power structure. The sort of jobs that are in the buried middle part of the Oscars, not important enough to be the early prizes and not important enough to be the awards to close out the award show.

The people at the top of the power structure haven't really shown that they are change people.

Given they're bringing back shit from the first film, I think the evidence is plenty obvious they're trying to make everything seem exactly the same once again. Some new replacement names in the parts of the movie credits nobody watches much of isn't going to change director style or script nuances.

Can't be, the link is working!

I do like most of the things I have seen so far from what is known.

    I really like
    -the surviving AOE Autobots returning.
-the rumor that Megatron is the main villain, which is what I was hoping for after AOE's ending.
-Barricade and his posse, including Onslaught.
-the film running with some concepts introduced in the last film, such as the Knights and Creators.
-Megatron's and Barricade's designs. Holy crap! Incredible designs.
-the whole medieval Arthurian thing. My first episode of G1 was "A Deceptiocn Raider in King Arthur's Court." I love the trebuchet and practical props on the medieval battle set.
    -Joyce, Simmons, and Cade returning.
    -Anthony Hopkins!
-Last but not least, the filming locations. Wow! Perhaps the best yet in the films from what I have seen. This includes sets that look like they will take place on alien ships or worlds.

That isn't to say I love everything either. For instance...
-I don't like the design of Hot Rod's face. I am hoping it is more visually expressive than it appears to be.
-I don't want there to be too many characters running around. I guess we will see for certain in the final film. I hope there is at least some good balance between the characters that do appear, and that every robot of note either gets some interesting characterization, cool action scenes, or plays their part in the story.
-I prefer Bee's AOE design to his TLK design.

Granted, these are just my personal preferences and hopes. I do greatly look forward to the film.

Doesn't really put much faith in a person when when we've seen how they have attempted to "fix" or improve the other Paramount franchises. After GI Joe 2 it seemed like the studio wasn't brave enough to pull the plug so for a long time we got the oh gee we'd love to make GI Joe 3 but you know the Rock is busy right now and all the other excuses. The idea to fix Star Trek after Into Darkness resulted in both a lower domestic and international box office. To improve the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles they threw in lots of franchise favorites but by keeping the ugly turtle designs they just seemed to turn off ticket buyers to end up with a lower domestic and international box office run.

It really seems like Paramount has lost their mojo. With a Marvel/Disney movie and a Star Wars movie still on the way it's going to be yet another year where Paramount doesn't have a top 10 domestic film. Outside of Transformers you have to go back to 2011 find a live action Paramount movie in the top 10 so not exactly a studio that seems to get what people want.

I expect little to no change since the Bay Transformers movies are one of the few bright spots for Paramount when it comes to the mega budget films.

I still don't know why they won't put Bay in charge of GI JOE. Dude has a boner for pimping the military and GI JOE just needs to be more whimsical, less gory Expendibles with over the top bad guys (Tim Curry as Cobra Commander please). That seems like an obvious solution but they'll literally have him do anything except that.

I can't judge the plot yet, but I agree as well. Nothing says Transformers about the new body designs except for maybe some door parts on Barricade. I'm not a fan of how any of it was going in the 4th installment. AOE's story line and that they killed off almost everyone was a huge disappointment. Crosshairs was nothing but a selfish ass who cared only about himself & Drift was a bit over the top (a bot dressed like a samurai, with an oriental accent reciting haikus.)

What's next? A bot with a Greek accent, dressed like a Spartan soldier, consuming baklava flavored energon and reciting philosophy??? I'm Greek, I can say that.

I was approaching this movie thinking that it might be another "fun" bad movie, but it is steadily looking to be just an unentertaining bad flick... which I guess is just a return to form.

The human cast is huge, especially compared to the last one. We have Josh, Tyrese, Anthony, Mark, those two girls whose names I forgot, the kid... among others. More humans means that if time is to be properly spent to give them characterization, they must take away from the robots.

The robots are likewise overpopulated, meaning that whatever time there is left in the movie will have to be stretched between them. There is a much higher chance, however, that they will just stay as background characters. That's a shame after all the entertaining robot banter that was in the last movie. It looks like it's going to be DOTM all over again, as in the robots will make a few appearances in a 40 minute climax and be relegated to the background for the most part. The cast is too huge to support every character properly within two hours.

I'm not even bothered by what the plot seems to be or the weird designs lacking in kibble, the first is just mixing ridiculous with an already fantastical setting. The latter is just there; the movies are already their own aesthetic to me.
