Hey there neighbor, no offense, but the correct name would be "Cannonmasters", with a double "n". Was that name actually used on the French/Dutch packaging? All I know is that the Predators were called "Scope Masters" in the French/Dutch version.
i call the two groupe (scopemasters aka the decepticons Predators and autobots turbomaster) in one groupe name Canonmasters because all of these have the same gimmick , their weapons....Canon with missiles (with one "n") and i have 9/12 canonmasters and 4 of these from france and is "predators" and "turbomasters" on packaging when i make the page pages 59 and 60 i add a board with the name variations, so wait and see
Were these ever released in the US? The blue, red and white cars all look really cool, I don't believe I've seen them before. What kind of prices do they fetch? Or, what are their names, so I can do some research myself?
No, these came out in 1991-92 when the line was dead in the US. They got released in most other areas, though. Names are: Scorch (yellow van), Boss (Batmobile), Hurricane (white racer), Flash (red pickup), Rotorstorm (blue badass helicopter) and Thunderclash (truck trailer) Decepticons were Snare, Talon, Falcon, Skydive, Stalker (the tank) and Skyquake (the flippin' huge jet!)
Canon is something different than cannon, at least in English. I see that it's "canon" in old French, though. Not sure about modern French. But "Canonmasters" would essentially be half English, half French.
I have Rotorstorm and Flash from the Turbomasters (what they where called here) and Stalker, Falcon and Tellon from the Pred's. They where a nice G2 serise, but the Predators suffered from GPS in there cannons which really sucked.
to razorclaw: i know but i use the french word for it "canon" with one "n" i combine it with the english word master because "maitres des canons" is not sound good but i understand you not like that (and use this hybrid terme=not recreate the first page for english version ) http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canon_%28artillerie%29 for rodr-evil: it not a official catalog, it is a fan-made files for deltasnake: i prefer class it in G1.5 because those toys are definitively hybrids between G1 and G2 they have: G1 articulation, LOGO. and G2 colors, gimmicks you know those toys are the first to have the pipelight? (i need a confirmation)
I *think* they were the first toys to feature a light-piping gimmick. Unfortunately we have no article for that gimmick on the Wiki yet.
I believe they are the first *Transformers* to use the gimmick. The same designer at Takara more than likely was also working on Da Garn, which came out first (from my perspective, Feb 1992 VS early spring 1992). Da Garn has a very similar aesthetic and also makes great use of light piped eyes.
And yeah, I think they're generally considered G1.5. I'd definitely call them G1, as they were still adorned with the original faction insignias. G2 was when they started to tamp the insignia and faction name onto the figures, and the Turbomasters and Predators didn't have that.
