I still find it clever how that was actually pulled off. If that wasn't pointed out to me at this point, I would've never realized it even now. Although, this is gonna spark an even bigger debate than before   It all depends on how hard you actually study the pics to see it though..

You may not see it at first, but trust me, it's there. Well hidden too. I think color would help though. I see it. Perspective and orientation counts too..

Admittedly yes, I did know about that... I'm much more interested in how the shoulders/forearms form the hipskirts, and exactly how the legs collapse, as I can see a bunch of panels in the calf area

You have to keep in mind though that this is the final design for Thorilla. When we had a look at him in combined mode and robot mode as well as gorilla mode at the exhibition last year, the front skirts didn't look like that and everyone was clueless as to what the deal was with the crotch and front skirts. Some thought it was an extra piece and others weren't so sure about it. Then, what made it even more confusing was that gorilla mode and robot mode had no clear indication as of what was what, so we were all left guessing at that point. It wasn't discovered until later that they weren't the same molds that were used. Combined mode was different from the gorilla and robot modes. On top of that, the front skirts were one solid piece on both sides, which made matters no better. Here, they are "separate" and not a solid mold. Which means they can fold and store away and become the pecks and sides in gorilla and robot mode. To those who still can't see it, you'll have to play detective to solve the case  

I think those will come at some point. I think right before Thorilla hits final stage. We'll see though..

I have a feeling they will. I was thinking at one point of having the combiner hands for Cool Peak & Green Zone as alternate "heads" in place of their robot heads, until I realized how bizarre that'll look  

 

Could be worse. Last update I have is 'handed off to local courier'. Two days ago. No anything since, not even a new tracking or name.

 

I'm about to banish Firmament to the Shadow Realm. Trying to convert him into an arm, and no part of his legs wants to stay tabbed together. And apparently I let him sit too long without fiddling, because his combiner peg has become IMPOSSIBLY tight. This is why I'm not a fan of birds.

 

I think gorilla can just stands up in beast mode. 

 

Do you have silicon shock oil? That works well with tight joints and will help with that stupidly tight combiner peg. But I would recommend trying to take him apart (at least the top half) to gain access to that peg and use one drop and work it in between the gears until it no longer feels so tight. To take him apart, the parts on either side where his robot arms attach to can pop off. The rest is smooth sailing from there. Well, except a few screws, of course. But once it's all said and done, you'll be able to gain access to the peg easily..

 

It's actually quite easy to make out in the newer images.


The entire abdomen of Thorilla is the crotch of Thunderking. The pecs slide out to form the upper hip skirts, the lower hip skirts are hidden under the arms.


The hips fold out and up, as the hip connection in combined mode is in the sides of the gorilla, instead of the original gorilla crotch. Legs form the thighs. Feet fold to the sides as it looks like you can make out the toes of the gorilla on the side of those ramps.

Arms fold back a little to sit behind the newly formed thighs, shoulder pauldrons angled down.
