This is a minor nitpick relative to the many things I dislike about Kinglion that make him the second member of this team I’m skipping, but:
I don’t like it when the beast mode claws are used as the robot feet. I don’t mind them if they’re turned around to become the heel, but I don’t want beast toes becoming robot toes.

 

yeah would be nice to have different feet but I'm not really bothered by it

 

It’s not a design dealbreaker by itself, and I’m sure a lot of people like the “feral” look it gives the robot. But given that the transformation on this guy is so simple and the two modes are so similar in appearance, a little extra engineering to differentiate the feet would have provided some much-needed (IMO) distinction. As it is, this robot is damn-near just a lion that stands up on his hind legs and lowers his head.

 

I just watched Ben’s review. So glad I ended up passing on these. I loved the look of the first figures, but this thing is as far from Transformers as possible. Looks more like Gundam and power rangers had a baby, beat it, then left it to its own devices until it formed a heavy metal band and is now trying to take over the universe…

I really think G1 predaking was a decent concept but one of the poorest executions in G1, and would love a powerful remake of the design, but this is too far for me.

 

still hoping zeta does there's looked pretty good not sure id have enough room for two predakings  

 

That's some pretty good posability for a lion beast mode

 

I don’t recall seeing a proposed design by Zeta, but I’d be interested in something stylized but more G1-leaning than this. I have the Cang bull and tiger and will definitely get the rhino, but I don’t intend to complete this set.
Did Zeta’s Predaking just die on the vine?

Oh yeah, that’s a very faithful G1 interpretation. I like it and would be interested, though I’m also very open to stylized designs like Cang’s Landbull. Unfortunately they just went a bit too far with Firmament and especially Kinglion for my tastes.

I personally love this take on Predaking I was never really a fan of the g1 version

 

My kingdom for a Masterpiece sized Dreamwave version of Predaking.  

 

Go look up Zoids and you'll see exactly what King Zoidlion is trying to be.

 

Kinglion is already playing the axe guitar. I see potential for a hardcore heavy metal rock band going on with them. Only thing is, what would be a good name for the band and what would the other members play in it?..
