Exactly I was fully on board until I saw the feet, now I am having some doubts. They should have just used the Zeta pants framework. It works and it's proven. Screw the partsformering crybabies.

I'm not a fan of Zeta's pants forming. It's not even pants forming. Zeta's is full on torso and quads parts forming. That's super lazy engineering but you do get a great combine mode if that's what you want.

I've done my fair share of early-bird-speculation. Now it's time to wait for more info. I hope we get a hands on demo videos of Thunder King, or his parts, when he gets a full reveal on the 29th at the CICF Expo.

u know when that first came out i thought the same thing. razorclaws hips being predaking's hips give me feral rex's split nightmares though. perhaps they give you a bigger razorclaw for combined mode and a normal razorclaw to be in scale. is that why its shown separate? or maybe they are just saying razarclaw will be this big next to combined mode? in any case zeta has gone quiet and these cang guys have been great so far. non traditional but cool even if a bit too sytlized for my optimal preferences ....i can deal. i can't see buying a zeta based on that render after having these guys complete though unless zeta does a super amazing job with it and improves from that render a bit.

 

They had to, since FT and XTB joined the combiner market with their own pantsformers, Zeta had to step up their game to stay relevant.

Funny thing is, when you compare the head of the lion and the other beasts, they're kinda similar in scale, so I think Zeta is going for the lean but mean aesthetic for Predaking rather than the current 3P fav version of a barbarian giant.

 

I've seen the wolf/foot up for pre-order seperately. Have those retailers got it wrong?

Fair enough, but you still have the problem of a Headstrong and Tantrum being larger than both and Divebomb being tiny compared to all the others. There's no sense in the scale of any of the Combiner teams save maybe Menasor.
