The very first ToyWorld Constructor box set was $470, which included the extra G1 head, green thighs, lat fillers and Mixmaster barrel. I bought their first releases and upgrade sets all together for over $700.

The problem with waiting for box sets is funding. If no one buys the initial releases then the company will see it as not profitable and not bother producing it.

The box set came out first for big firebird combiners in June then they were individually packaged in august.

Zeta Bruticus/Superion and especially Constructor…last one I got for practically half price vs buying them individually as they produced him in just about every colour and flavour imaginable!!! If I had known though…I would have waited for the weathered effect green Constuctor set as that was IMHO the best of them all. As it stands, literally, he set the standard for both height and stability for combiners after him to try to match or exceed. Love the display I have with all the Gigasaurs squaring up against this bad boy…

They may not do a box set for the original colors. Might be Metallic, black, or clear

I would love to these guys in different colors but I don't think it would happen until a few years later. How long does it take for other combinder sets to get new colors?

These Stylized versions are nice and tempting but I try to stick to boxy G1 figures or else my collection would be all over the place.

That is fine, I asked because most people collect based on nostalgia and not what they find visually attractive.

Or they are faithful to a brand without fail…I can’t explain why else someone would pay more for CW Devastator than Constructor. I owned 2 CW Devys and sold both off…even the used one fetched much more than I paid. Between Constructor and CW, there just isn’t much to compare as one is vastly superior; however, a few decades from now the original CW may prove much more valuable. That’s the fun part of our hobby…we’re all right. The only thing wrong is our bank account…

Mixed bag here (a bit). I grew up on the G1 and those are the ones I want the most and find visually the most appealing. But these CT Predacons are awesome, so I got them too.

I'm in a similar age range (40's), but despite growing up on the g1 cartoon and toys, I have no nostalgia for the designs themselves.
I like to have a little nod, like a color scheme, etc.
But I look more for what, to me, has the spirit of a certain character.
My collection is a mish-mash of official and 3rd party figs, of all brands.
Mostly I just try and keep a consistent scale, one that looks like it makes sense, more than some chart from the old show.
But that is just me, and I am so grateful that there are all these companies now that can fulfill pretty much whatever anyone is looking for.
