I finally got my hands on an MP10 at a decent price. Unfortunately it was the YOTH version that most of us are not so crazy about. Great figure, just not keen on the gold and paint scheme. So a repaint was inevitable. So started off with the normal prep work by completely disassembling this guy and I'm impress as to how easy it was to literally completely disassemble him. Then on to the degreasing, cleaning, sanding so forth. I did alclad gloss black for a base coat to ensure a good shinny base coat. Then chromed the entire figure. Next was onto the metallic red and blue coats that were followed by candy red and blue to give a deep rich look to the paint job like a car finish. I started off with the intention of making him all bling bling. But I didn't see that anyone else had done one like this and then did some battle damage so I went for that. Added lots of scraps, scuffs and light wear on him. Finished him off with some battle wear detailing, Tamiya smoke and alclad aqua gloss for a great protective clear coat.
Nice, love the colors you used. It's an amazing mold to work with, the first time I painted one I was surprised too at how easily it came apart. The engineering is top notch, very few rub spots to worry about, it's almost as if they knew it was going to be popular among customizers.
