This has been up for over a year now but I figured I would bring some more attention to it.

Some concept pieces for a cancelled Bumblebee video game by Ubisoft which would have tied in with 2018’s Bumblebee film.

I suspect this is probably where those false rumours of a WFC Trilogy video game by Ubisoft originated from.

That Bumblebee model definitely needed more time in the oven. The face and proportions are really off. It's pretty good as far as detail goes, and it would be nice to get another real TF game for console/PC.

Bumblebee would've been a difficult story to adapt I think, but I also feel like a smaller-scale game with more interactive elements and story is what we need over a generic shooter like the Cybertron games.

Yeah, perhaps a game that focuses on more on exploration would be kinda nice. Especially if it includes a 80's inspired hub world.

I remember someone on social media posting a ~few years ago that they had sold a bunch of their collection and realized it was all going to one location, a Ubisoft office (I think in China?). I assumed that this meant Ubisoft had or was pursuing the Transformers license after Activision lost it - guess this explains that.

I miss tie-in games. Not specifically for Transformers, but for movies in general. Growing up, I enjoyed buying the games for movies I liked. I used to play the Bolt game (based on Disney's dog movie), the Up game, the Revenge of the Sith game, stuff like that. I still think the Wall-E video game is fantastic. I'm assuming these aren't terribly profitable any more (and a lot of them were samey), but I do miss them. They tended to add some neat expanded worldbuilding. Like, the Wall-E game had a neat epilogue. I would have loved a Bumblebee game. It would be neat to see what other characters would have popped up to help pad the length of the game.

Games are more expensive to make and the quality standards are a lot higher so they couldn't rush out a half-baked tie in and get the same profit anymore, no. I'd love something like the Amazing Spider-Man game from 2012 or so, a sequel set right AFTER the film so they didn't need to worry about the game releasing before the movie hit theaters or sticking so close to the movie's story. Get the general beats down and build upon them afterwards. I bet a Bumblebee sequel game would make bank if handled well

    OH THANK GOD!....

Another great franchise spared from the bug-fest and microtransactions that is ubisoft.

Phew! Thought we missed something important. At least Certain Affinity has a better track record than Ubisoft currently.

Why are you assuming that they were aiming for a movie-model accuracy? It's pretty clear to me that this is a stylized interpretation of the movie design.
