They are called Starriors. The big guy on the left is from an international market called RATS. So if that helps any, your very welcome.

Oops I forgot to include a website, well its more of a fansite, but it tells what they are, so here it is. If that works, Red leader.

the second I saw the tiny little gold guys I was like "ooooohhhh, I had some of those." I swear they just materialized. I can't for the life of me remember ever seeing them in a store or saying, "gee, mom, can I have some starriors?"

LOL, I had a bunch of 'em too and I can't ever remember seeing them in a store. don't remember a cartoon, had some of those old books that came with a cassette. But I can't remember seeing the stuff on the shelf.

edit: Oh snap, http://www.starriors.com/action.asp if you click the books it opens them up and has the audio from the cassettes!

The little gold guys also came with Zoids from back in the 80s.

I myself had the 'Giant' snake base thing and it was awesome. I could never get the Terrordome as a kid so I would use that as my Cobra headquaters. And since I could never get the G.I. Joe HQ set, I would use this castle from these wierd robot toys with suction-cups for legs for the Joes :lol

Ah, the old Robo-Force base. I used that as the Ark with my G1 guys. I think I've still got it, somewhere. Hope it's not too damaged from the old days or from sitting in a cupboard for so long.

Starriors were my first robot "love" as a kid, I had nearly all of the main characters (the ones featured in the Marvel comic limited series, which was the first comic series I collected). I definitely remember them on shelves and in the Xmas catalogs. I don't know if it ever had a cartoon or not, never saw one as a kid but I heard something on the internet years ago that suggested it did, but I've never seen any evidence of it.

Anyway, it became apparent that Starriors wasn't going to last (I got the "Snake" battlestation for $10 or $20 - something really cheap compared to it's original price - on clearance at KB near the end) so I started gravitating towards this other robot brand that had a comic and a cartoon and an even larger cast... including robot dinosaurs..!
