Stroywise ROTDS has nothing to do with AOE. Hell the only connections to AOE are the character designs are being used for the earth missions.
No it doesn't. Because the game's plot has NOTHING to do with that of the movie's besides Lockdown coming to Earth. All the game does is give us something to go along with the movie as well as fill in one or two plot holes from FOC.
Is a film being released? yes Is there a game being released at the same time? yes That makes it a tie-in.
Transformers AOE the movie - Optimus to the Dinobots "Let me lead you!, I AM GIVING YOU FREEDOM!" *fast forward to the end* Spoiler Lockdown dies Transformers ROTDS - Optimus to Bumblebee about the dinobots "I have their trust Bumblebee, we'll call them when we need them"... Spoiler Lockdown is still alive and says "I'll be back prime!"....? These 2 don't match, therefore I refuse to acknowledge this game as a tie in, and rather leave it as just a game spin off. Call me whatever you want, but if you can thoroughly explain how Prime met Grimlock before he freed him in the movie then I won't argue with you, since the movie is the first time he meets the "legends"
The new character designs from the new movie are what ties the new movie in to the new game released at the same time. It really is as simple as that.
...and that's what a tie-in does. Tie-in - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It's a tie-in, because its familiarity to other currently released media is supposed to appeal to you.
This completely. A lot of the reasons people are saying that this game isn't a tie-in would make the DOTM game not a tie-in as it doesn't take place during the film or as someone else mentioned the amazing spiderman games have nothing to do with the movies and yet are tie-ins.
