You can put the wrong fuel in them. I bet Bee would be feeling pretty sick with a full tank of diesel.

Why do people keep using diseases and viruses as synonyms for poison? A poison is something you ingest, not an infection.

I remember in the comics the Throttlebots got captured by RAAT when someone put a load of sugar in their fuel tanks. That's sorta poisoning.

In Animated, the Autobots were given some spiked beverage to consume, and it allowed Soundwave to control and/or manipulate them. I imagine it isn't much of a stretch to have something similar exist with poison of some sort.

Thank you! That's what I've been trying to get at. Like I said, Lore poisoned his brother Data by putting something in his drink for their toast. Data was not "infected" with anything, but he was drugged.

The episode was called "Micro-bots" if I'm right.

Apart from the good examples in the comics that people have already mentioned, I'd cite Bulkhead spiking Mixmaster and Scrapper's oil in TFA's 'Rise of the Constructicons'.

I always viewed the "Hate plague" as hasbro's version of the AIDS/HIV disease. because in the early 1980's when aids/Hiv people were un-sure how people could catch aids/hiv from a affected person. some people got carried away & thought the disease got transferred from a sneeze,or hand shake, touching,or by breathing the same air in a crowded room.

They can be poisoned about as readily as any machine that doesn't take current directly can be.

Just adulterate the fuel mix and all sorts of nastiness can ensue. Imagine filling your car's gas tank with fruit juice or heck, ethanol-based fuel in a standard engine.

As has been noted in the thread, it happened a number of time in the comics. Darkwing and Dreadwind were the very first Powermasters due to Nebulos' poison fuel.

As an add-on, one of the earliest stories of the G1 Marvel comics was Sparkplug poisoning the Decepticons' fuel supply. The Autobots were dangerously low on fuel and couldn't stop a full-fledged Decepticon attack; however, thanks to Sparkplug, the Decepticons literally dropped over. This also led to the intro of Shockwave's first takeover of the Decepticons in the comcis.

While most people use venom and poison as synonyms (such as referring to poisonous spiders or snakes), that's technically incorrect. It's only a poison if it's ingested.
