I think it's what tonyformer said in another thread. OP is a high prime like a boss and the dinos are his heavy hitting goon squad or something close to that

The simplest explanation is that knights look cool so they are knights now. Honestly most of the stuff in the film series comes down to because someone thought it looked cool.

I'm curious as to what's up with the Silver Knight Prime. Just a promo material thing, or a dropped concept?

From what Lockdown said the Knights were crusaders and explorers. Optimus Prime being both a Prime and a Knight seems to show a connection between the two groups.

It can be that all Primes were Knights or a few but most Knights are not Primes.

Actually Optimus being Knight could explain some stuff what happened between the War of the Fallen with the Primes, and the Rise of the Autobots.

It is possible that Sentinel Prime and Optimus Prime was not on Cybertron when the Fallen decided to purge all Prime descendants. They were with the Knights at the time.

The presence of the Knights could also explain how the Fallen was not able to acquire the Allspark. They hid it.

According TF Ride expanded material on Evac the Knights of Cybertron were
protectors of the Allspark. Megatron set a trap that killed them all except one junior member, Evac.

The movie did the audience a huge disservice with this whole topic. Even as a fan, I sat there going wtf are they talking about and why the fuck does it matter all the sudden? It was just so poorly written and conceived. Merely something that was mentioned in passing yet plays a part in the dinobots and prime's back story apparently.

you know as much as we do.

    really, this shit wasn't explained.

you know the Knightship was an exploration ship, because knights are the world's first explorers.
you go read about knights and the first thing you'll find is about them finding new worlds.

Gonna have to agree with this. I've been a fan and defender of these movies so far, but this one totally lost me. There's just no reason for anything that happens after the first hour or so.

If you're gonna randomly throw things into your franchise with very little or no explanation, at LEAST have them be ideas that came from the source material! Ugh.

That's actually perfect because in ROTF Sam says, "the Sentinel Prime expedition!"

The idea of these Knights will likely go into other movies as well. Perhaps OP meets other Knights on his quest for the Creators?

Definitely. Might be part of why they want OP back.

Cause the way I see it, The Creators used the allspark and made the knights, explorers to search for planets for them. The Creators made the Prime's so their plan of Cybertron could begin, but with The Fallen and the death of the Prime's, it seems that Prime was originally suppose to be a knight, but left before he could be fully initiated. So young Prime deviated from the knights and trained under Sentinel instead.

Now how Lockdown refers to his ship now holding the worst of the worst, including the knights. It seems that Grimlock and the others also somehow deviated or rebelled against The Creators if they were allowed to be prisoned by The Creators new herald. The knights I feel is almost like a zealous group.

As for Grimlock and co. I'd take it that they went against the creators during the cyber-matting of prehistoric Earth, where they were left in defeat.

Causing Grimlock and co. to take on the forms of the cyberformed dinsaur skeletons.

Probably being left in a form and planet such as this for a long time can cause anyone to become a savage for survival, especially with such an alt. mode.

Than of course Lockdown was found, hired and sent to retreive the Knights and in payment he keeps their ship and them as trophies.

Fuck it, you know what this is my go to reasoning for it now.

This movie really needed a tie-in prequel comic like Foundation to explain everything.

Indeed. Kids like dinosaurs and kids like knights. It's a surprise really that we didn't have any wizard Transformers in BayFormers several years ago.

I think it's like a brotherhood sort of thing, like the Companions from Skyrim.

Lockdown made it seem like the Knights were evil and OP went against that evilness. They were supposed to find planets so the Creators can use them. But if the Transformers are evil i guess OP lead some rebellion? And if the Transformers are evil does that mean Megatron is doing the correct thing? Or did he rebel too and is doing his own evil thing?
