Always wanted to expand Predaking's army of Predacons, but my options were pretty limited since I didn't want repaints or duplicates of each mold displayed. So questions for anybody with both lines:

Do you think the TFP Preds and AOE Dinobots look well enough together for the Dinobots to pass as Preds in robot mode?

How does Beast Fire Predaking scale with Grimlock?

Suggestions for toys that could pass as Preds would be appreciated too.

    Thanks!

The AOE Dinbots are pretty excellent.

If you were to see, for example, grey prototypes of Slash in robot and beast move you'd not guess they were the same.

I think they may just pass but they look far more Primal than the TFP Predacons did.

They may well pass as new Predacons if you were to treat the old ones as a separate group.

This might sound a little out of left field, but the World of Warcraft beast rider sets aren't so bad as non-transforming beast modes either. The toys were molded to look polygonal, like a video game render...but the effect also looks rather like robotic armor.

I'm certainly looking forward to pitting Grimlock and the Dinobots against Predaking and his army...

If you mean as adversaries to the Predacons, I think they would look awesome displayed together on a shelf.

I'd reconsider not using repaints to add to your Predacon army, they look great together!

I have the repaints too for my Predacons.

Well, not the clear Abominus. Or Dragotron (yet).

But I do have the Takara version of Abominus.

Yeah, the repaints actually fit in well. You can mistransform the figures quite a bit to get very unique looks out of even the identical molds, and the Takara versions fit in just as well.

I agree with Electro Rush. I think the Dinobots make for better adversaries to the Predacons. Especially since the Dinobots have this Knight aesthetic going and what do knights usully face in the storybooks? Dragons

I'd already planned on using my movie Dinobots as the enemies of my BH Predacons but NEVER made that connection.

    Good job man.

I do think the TFP Predacons and AoE Dinobots go well together, but in reverse!

Thanks for the pics guys. Really appreciate the ideas given here.

I suppose since his army is a cloned army, I could justify repaints with "Shockwave happened to make two." Never liked repaints but at least the Predacon repaints can be explained away.

Going to buy all the Dinobots then. Two factions: Dragon Predacons and Dinosaur Predacons.

Wait, OP, you want the Dinobots to be under Predaking's command?

No, can't see it. Doesn't look very good. Probably the big(ish) Autobot symboles on the AOE Dinobots.

However, Predacons VS Dinobots? Beautiful stuff. I'd love an entire line of that actually. Screw Maximals for the next 'Beast Wars' style show, give me Predacons VS Dinobots for an entire line. Great adversaries!

Whoa! Nice picture! The dragons really look good together!

IMO the aesthetics are different for the Dinos...they feel like Dinozaurs to me...a toyline put out by Bandai (?) years ago.
